Each time I see a new post on this thread I keep thinking there might be some update news about this model

It look superb to me too, my only concern other than the points already mentioned is the cabside windows/frame. Could someone else take a look and give their opinion please.

You may be right about the future of Heljan's Western. The CAD drawing of Dapol's Western does look truly stunning and if the class 22 is anything to go by, the Western will be fantastic. However it might all come down to price at the end of the day. The Heljan one isn't cheap, but the Dapol one I fear is going to be quite a bit more expensive, more so than the 22. Having amassed a reasonable sized fleet of Heljan 52's, the big question for me is, do I sell some of them to make way for the Dapol version, or wait until I've seen one, by which time my Heljan fleet could be seriously devalued. I would like to support Dapol in their venture with the 52 and will buy one anyway, but in these times of financial restraint I can't see me buying many without selling some of the Heljan ones.

Loads! Will there be any crew on board? not something I'd normally worry about, but with the Western having such large windscreens it is noticable if there is no driver.
