Thanks Andy,
Ive seen and admired the Coal Tank threads, which is why I thought there might be more interest in the 2-4-0T. It seems to have potential as a basic starter loco. I don’t know if I have the eyesight and skills for 2mm FS. I’ve seen some lovely layouts at the old Nottingham and other shows.

There were industrial pannier tanks of nonGWR origin.

What is the point of Sue Perkins? I’ve never seen it.
I must be missing something. More of a Julia Bradbury man myself. Or the excellent Mr Tim Dunn & Siddy Holloway.

A Midland spinner would be a hit, a GCR single would complement other GCR models nicely.

Clearly no-one interested in this topic! I’ll stick to 7mm scale then….

This is just to ask if a body kit for the Webb 2-4-0T was ever produced? N Brass Productions supply a chassis etch which can also be used for the 2-4-2T version which some locos were rebuilt into or from. It’s quite a basic, compact loco with inside brake gear and a body kit could possibly also run on a modified Farish 0-6-0 chassis. The last survivors spent many years on the Cromford & High Peak, up to 1952.
I don’t have a background in 2mm finescale but have an idea for a little CHP project.

Britain's only remaining gasworks at Fakenham, Norfolk has been preserved http://fakenhamgasmuseum.com/ and some period photos here https://fakenhamcommunityarchive.weebly.com/the-gasworks.html
Ray.
Biggar is in Lanarkshire, still part of Britain and has its tiny gasworks intact as a museum. Actually too small for a railway.

I had a chance to run a 45 tonner at a shortline that a friend worked for, it was a pleasant experience.
I came across this GE 50 tonner (more weight, no side rods) in Canada. Orangedale station museum, NS.
Full story of the shortline here

Yes! Seriously thought of buying one of these. I had many Bachmann N gauge ones which powered narrow gauge models. There is an O scale one on eBay UK but importing the K16a from the US was better in every way, a lovely loco! I don’t think it had done more than a test run. Fitting DCC will be interesting as it’s a big old style motor which stalls at 5 ohm.

I would not consider a GE 44 tonner an obscure motor. As far as shortlines go, at least two class 1s had them; Baltimore & Ohio and Pennsylvania. Is yours a Yoder? BTW, nice scene, I would like to see more.
True, l also like 25, 45 & 70 tonners, each is a modelling project. The 44 & 45 tonners are Rich Yoder models.
The microlayout they are pictured on has its own history here:- 1

Got one of these today. Good vfm. Never had a tool clamp as I failed to make one at school. Useful extra drill bits & pin chuck. Initiative test to open drillcases.

Ken Plant's Oakwood Press (1st or 1987 edition) 'The Ashover Light Railway' has 4 pages of track & station diagrams. The Gratton (Wild Swan) book fetches silly prices.

The actual profit also depends how long the item has been in stock. Model shops can carry a high value of stock which has to be financed, that is a cost and the longer its there the higher that will be.

Christmas is over for another year, Coxheath Sidings has taken delivery of another loco, GE 45 tonner joins the 44 tonner in the siding. Thanks to Rmweb Classified for this one!

Nearly two years since its last appearance, pre-lockdown, my microlayout Coxheath Sidings makes a reappearance from storage in the workshop. Why? No timber has been cut (or baseboards bought) for any replacement, despite much design work. I needed a Christmas layout, and wanted to run some of the American O scale stock I have collected for my shortline project (yet to be built…).
Coxheath Sidings was originally built in Canada back in 2015, though it has until now represented a British industrial byline. Here we see it representing an obscure US freight loading dock, hijacked as a Santa Claus location.
Visiting locos comprise a KTM brass B&O K16a 0-4-0 tender which needed its tender coupling fitting and test running. And a GE 44-tonner, classic shortline loco. US bogie cars are really too long for this layout, even 40-footers. But its good to see anything run, as well as some of the British locos.

Try Halfords Rover Damask Red. Good match for Midland/LMS red, will match some variants of Tuscan red.
Anyone know what shade of red I need for a Baltimore & Ohio wood caboose, like this (1940s period)?

It seems the song by heavy metal band Judas Priest, ‘Stand by for exciter’ was actually about a Brush 4 being used for this duty at Kingsbury power station….

Do you need DCC for your shuttle? Could you use a plain DC shuttle module for £20 or so? what does DCC add?

Here is some pics of the Turbo Car motor and a 70's come 80's can motor from a scalextrics car, which is the same as in some of the Hornby locos, ie 0-4-0 tank. It is of the same design as the Turbo Car one but smaller in size. It could quite possible be made to fit (pack out etc) as there are no gears to mesh with.
Mabuchi motors, as sold by Proops of Totts Court Rd.

Any chance of a screenshot please?
How the f**k I take a screenshot? I did try. Screen covered by s**t in Rmweb. My PhD is not in computer science.
I feel for the Rmweb editors, you have been screwed by your publishers & advert people.
Please sort this out.Dava
