They look great (apart from the EPs being in a hideous green)
Well at least they're not glowing!*

How confidently 🙃
Date aside, the more learned could correct me if I'm wrong but checking notes and photos it appears that 34074 would be a separate loco and tender job or a re-crest job. I cannot see a late crest wide cab with a full height tender in any Hornby option. Though I am happy to be corrected here.- 1

G’day all
With the recent release of the Bachmann DBSO as Network Rail 9702, I’m trying to work out what train/stock would be suitable to run with the RTOVs, both generator (9701/08/14) and non (9702/03). Not being located in the UK, I unfortunately can’t just pop out and take notes, but hopefully others can benefit from this as well. So the question comes-what rakes are the RTOVs typically used as part of?
One combination that does seem to crop up in research is 9702/999605 ultrasonic test car/ex-BG generator car, though this doesn’t seem to be a fixed formation. And 9708 was part of SGT1 from 2008-~2013 when that was still running, but is now a normal RTOV.
Any other notes/consists would be of interest. Typical rakes, or even the more unusual ones.

Those look much
more convincingless unconvincing. More attractive too.Cheers. I will admit from what I can find the "lining" on GT3 is actually moulding (real and model), so whilst I could remove it, a touch harder for KR to do.
5 hours ago, cctransuk said:The problem, which is insurmountable, is that GT3s shape / design is very much 1950/60s.
Look at 10000/1 and 10800 - both of the late LMS period; there is a clear generational gap in the styling.
This is why I did the 2 versions in the end. It was hard to get the 'mid line' strip to look right so I lowered it down to follow the top of the battery boxes. I did go for a plain black as per Fig.1, but it ended up as Fig.2

It's neck and neck but I reckon batch 1 of the 37s will beat the 92s...
Place your bets ladies and gentlemen!
Cheers!

It did manage two bricks totalling 8.6kg, equivalent to 53 Mk1 coaches but the tension lock couplings couldn't hold out any longer.
First OO scale RTR loco that actually could pull the house down.
Though has anyone yet attempted the industry standard 'Pulling the skin off of a rice pudding' test?- 3

and Accurascale are announcing batch two of the class 37 later this year!
I'm gonna take a wild, stab in the dark, hail mary guess and say 37714 in Trainload Freight (Metals) livery.
Just a hunch. -

"what flavour of kool aid is being drunk."
The flavour is making inquiries rather than assuming what was the case 30-40 years ago still is, and not believing baseless rumour spread around.
Far worse places for railway preservation in Australia than Dorrigo.- 1

"That would require spending money on things other than another locomotive."
That's a very pre-1986 or as recent as 15 years ago attitude....
There has been a lot of money spent on things that aren't "Just another locomotive", and I don't mean other exhibits being acquired. Preventative maintenance. Earthworks. Many other things that are not listed to John and Jane Public. The conditions that Dorrigo is being forced to meet by the council are not new. The street sign battle took many, many years to come to a conclusion on, and is only a minor point. If one were to read a more recent newsletter, one might-shockingly-have a more up to date set of information to work on.
What will happen to the exhibits when Keith dies has already been decided on funnily enough, even if people have not been made aware of it. I've asked him the question myself in a phone call and was given the answer. As to 3813? There's no need for it to run. We have 3801 running, 3830 in a condition where it can be restored to run and 3820 as another option. There's simply no point in spending quite literal millions on restoring 3813 to steam. Hell, MY grandkids may never see it run-and frankly, makes no difference if they don't.
Tell me. How is Glenreagh Mountain Railway doing? For the breakaway group that was supposed to be running trains, there's been a distinct lack of that for.....14 years.- 1

From storage to obscurity you mean - my mother was an early member of the Dorrigo mob back in the 80s (I remember reading the newsletters when in primary school). Doubt she'll ever see the "museum" open 35 years later.
When you've got a council that is so anti-museum that they even removed the street sign so it was harder to find, it is hard.
The requirements the museum is being forced to meet is beyond crazy.- 2

There was a survey done of Flying Scotsman done a while ago to establish just how much might date back to the "as new" construction.

I've got a few A3's from the previous tooling, all with decent running boards. Wondering if the moulds are knackered or there was an issue with the plastic mixture later on, forcing the re-tool to happen. All reasonably decent runners.
It seems to have been an issue from the tooling from the newer, non Sandra Kan factory. R3443 seems to suffer about 50/50 and the level varies, but from memory the 2015 or so release of Book Law seemed to suffer this and a few other issues. So it's a potential for it to be either issue you've mentioned or both.
