It all began with the Matchbox Models-of-Yesteryear Talbot van in Liptons Tea livery. Matchbox produced it with the royal crest which was prototypical. But what they didn't do was ask permission to use the crest so they had to change it PDQ. That caused the ones with the royal crest to be much sought after with a consequent rise in value. Ironically the same models today are practically worthless.
A similar thing happened with the EFE Ribble Atlantean, about 1/2 of the production were lost at sea in a shipping container overboard IIRC. For a time they were zs rare as rocking horse poo and commanded prices which reflected that. Now, though still fetching prices better than others in the range, they're barely realising 20% of the high price.

In the run up to de-regulation various 'blockades using buses' were arranged around the country to demonstrate the effect on other road users of a proliferation of extra (often unnecessary) vehicles purely as a result of 'competitive operators' being able to access routes hitherto provided solely by e.g. a municipal operator. In the resulting log jam, car drivers were canvassed on their opinions of the use and development of public transport. Almost all of the 'stuck' car drivers I canvassed thought that public transport was an absolutely brilliant idea.......
.....for everybody else to use so that they could drive their cars with less hindrance.
Says a lot really!

Dear all
I wasn’t going to resort to defending myself but in answer to recent posts.
Thank you. The layout is my own work.
Hence my jester emoji, I suspected you and the ebay seller were one and the same person having seen your layout elsewhere on RMweb.
Well done!

Or maybe he bought the layout and the models are his own work?

Bachmann N Class - "The MODEL is in GOOD condition - appears slightly bent. "
Certainly does - looks like a terminal case of Mazak rot.
That's what happened to mine.

Ah, so that explains why Princesses (or anything out of Longbridge, really) rotted so quickly. They had rust built in from new.
A well known fact, just like the mk3 cortina, rust was a 'no cost option'

I don't get what the fuss is about.
It's all about vehicle awareness, concentration and observation isn't it?
All of which are prerequisites, or at least were when I took my driving test, to holding a licence to drive said vehicle.
Periodic refresher tests anyone?

I expect you sorted this backlash problem ages ago.
It is very simple to adjust. Loosen the nut in the centre of the handwheel turn the hand wheel clockwise until it takes up the slack, but doesn't make it too tight to turn. Then holding the h/wheel tighten the centre nut. I often check everything on mine.
My Unimat 3 will for sale soon.
Rob
For a whole host of reasons, I haven't even used it yet.
Apologies also for not thanking earlier respondents - now sorted.

I might have one, need to check as I've been clearing some stuff, pm me with a price which you consider not to be 'silly money' then I'll go and check and report back.
Andy.

And a complete bag o'sh!te in some. Notably anything with a Nissan K9K diesel and a 5 speed box.
Drive take up judder all the time when the engine is hot.... gives the impression that you don't know how to drive or you have a kn@ckered clutch. Neither being true in my case.

Thanks Chris, It's not that 'I' do not want to 'play anymore'; I'm just finding that, at the moment, ERs seems to be not helping my mood or demeanour and discretion being the better part etc., I'm generally abstaining for a while in case I say something I might regret later.
This may sound odd, but as you rightly say ERs does offer lots of support to people, but I can't help but feel there are others more in need than I - so the easy answer is 'leave it for a while' until I can better 'cope' with the 'environment'

The pop up stupid "help our advertiser" ads every time I visit this site are really annoying. No wonder FB groups are taking over. Just saying.
But then again, as far as we know, RMWeb doesn't sell your data?

I once gave that response, and as quick as a flash the retort was " and will that one have a monkey driving it an' all?"
Serves me right I s'pose
