I bought mine when Hattons were flogging them off for 70 quid or so. I regret not getting a DP2, Clayton, Falcon and Kestrel at similar prices at the same time....

Indeed, which is why I made the offer.

The offer has been accepted, I'll report back......

I just had a look at his other offerings, mainly US outline boxcars (though there is also a Heljan Class 15).

I made an offer of £85 for the Class 15......

Fwiw I have  blue one and I wont be swapping it for another blue one either, if there had been a choice.

So a pattern is being established, which in a growing trend could suggest making a new blue one may not make sense.

That was the point trying to be made.

I intend to buy the new ones though, just not duplicates of what I already have.

    #confused

I do not understand your rationale at all, nor the point you are trying to make. Maybe you can afford to buy a new one because you have sufficient disposable income so to do. You could make that point without denigrating those who do not have that luxury.

That is the point I was making. To put it bluntly, suggesting that others might not buy a new one because they may be of the tight walleted persuasion (sic) is at best patronising  and at worst downright insulting.

    Let's leave it at that.

However many of the tighter walleted types may just forgoe swapping a blue one for another better blue one.

I won't be swapping, and it's not because I'm one of 'the tighter walleted types' - which incidently is perhaps a tad impolite?

I had another look at the listing, just to see how big the model was, and realised that there were a fair number of "descriptive" photos.  The clockwork one was particularly interesting as it shows how crudely put together it was.  It certainly looks like bits of "time-expired" clock went into it, and may well be a later addition to a large display model made for whoever commissioned the original ship.

I also scrolled through the logorrhoeic screed attempting to describe how "important" the item is. There's lots of conjecture, but little in the way of referencing for the various claims made, and none of the provenance one would expect for such a high-ticket item.

The amount of repetition would also have the writer knocked out of "Just A Minute" in about five seconds flat!

    Jeeves, my bargepole please!!!

    The listing also says:

The oldest working steam train was built in 1855

    Shows how much they know!

    "Citra, Simcoe, Chinook, Columbus"

    From their website.

    Thanks.

Didn't taste like it had any of those.......

Which is odd, because I do have a distinct preference towards Citra, Simcoe and Chinook.

    Siren Broken Dream.

One of a selection that were purchased from my local asda at a reduced to clear price.

This is badged as a 6.5% Breakfast (?) Stout.

Quite palatable, but I wouldn't want it for breakfast

The Brixton APA I had yesterday was so nice I went back to the shop and bought the remaining stock; 16 cans @90p each - that'll do!

I'd tend to regard such distinctions as essentially "beside the point"....

Try arguing that when you're pulled for overloading or exceeding towing limits; my guess is that being beside the point won't give much credence to that defence.

Sorachi Ace hops are not my favourite.

ps the radiator was not hot :)

    This is a bit better.....

But it just tastes like lager with mango syrup.

Ingredients don't mention the hop variety.

It's also vegan friendly; not that that's of any concern to me :D
