  1. Hi Martin A bit of imagination is needed. One option is to have the coal truck raise, no coal fall out, then the full truck lower again. Another option is to have coal in the truck actually emptying into the tender. However, gravity won't scale. If in the prototype coaling tower the coal has to fall 80ft, then it will take the coal 2.2 seconds to fall. ( Remember s = ut + 1/2 a t2 ) In a 4mm scale model the coal will fall in 0.26 seconds which is a lot faster than the prototype, and it is unlikely that the protypical cloud of dust will properly materialise. However, despite the above, as the falling coal is hidden for most of its journey, and if the truck itself is behind the coaling tower one might get away with it. A coaling operation would certainly make an interesting application of DCC sound, with appropriate sound effects of machinery, coal falling, then crashing into the empty tender, etc and a reasonable sized speaker inside the tower.
  2. Since the minimum reserve is £50, I don't understand buyers who, when they see "reserve not met", then proceed to bid less than £50.
  3. It might reduce but I doubt it would end. Just browse back through this very thread to see lots of "ebay madness" examples that do not involve limited editions.
  4. The people who sold them all to one person must surely have something to answer for as well.
  5. The bag of frozed peas on the sideboard might look good compared to the "model"
  6. It is now relisted at £7,500 BIN with facility to make an offer.
  7. Try selective quotes. Saves server width by not quoting the entire joke. Regards
  8. I contacted the seller about the name and number not matching. His reply was as follows: Interesting that this factor that makes this item "very unusual and rare" was not mentioned in the listing, nor was the opportunity taken to include my question and answer.
  9. When in a hole it is advisable to stop digging.
  10. What are you implying? BTW we all started E bay with a feedback of zero. This new member has got to 4. What is wrong with that? Your post also omits the fact that the bidding starts at 99p which is a fairly common start price.
  11. I think the coaches are separate. See his other items, all of which include pictures of loco and coaches.
  12. That actually looks quite good (though fictional).
  13. I think she did look at the evidence. Apparantly somewhere in the advert it said that one was bidding for a picture. It also said that the item weighed 4.5 oz. Apparently the picture was not 4.5 oz. Don't forget that Judge Judy has already read the papers that were submitted by both parties prior to the hearing.
  14. BRILLIANT Judge Judy case. Anyone know the username?
  15. 14 locomotives. Current bid £199.99. See item # 150470335920 PS. No connection with seller. I just noticed these at just over £14 per loco. Unless the bids increase, someone will get a bargain!!
  16. Thats why my offer was "genuine"
  17. My £5.00 offer has been declined. Perhaps carbootnut will have more luck with his £25.00 offer
  18. Now added to my watchlist Genuine offer made of £5.00
  19. TRIX TWIN TTR TRIX EXPRESS - 3 RARE SCALE WAGON LITS Only £1,000 (or best offer) Item # 230499032807
  20. Perhaps Iceland will beat them at "The Ashes" too.
  21. You are quite right. I stand corrected.
  22. Red Baron, I never made any comment to the effect that I think the seller is genuine, nor did I say the opposite. My problem is with the posts implying that this particular individual has done something illegal, when no evidence to back that up was produced. Dan I agree. But accusing someone of theft with no evidence is "banter too far" M Graff. I agree, this thread is getting silly. Perhaps the E Bay Madness is rubbing off.

  24. He IS still a member. I just checked. His items may be gone, but he is still registered. Also John I am very curious to know what evidence you have that justifies your first post and the second half of your second post. Your statements could be very defamatory about a specific and identifiable person.
