  1. Hi all, I'm hoping to get some retaining walls laser cut in 2mm to represent the area around Farringdon Station: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:North_end_of_Farringdon_station.jpg http://www.abandonedstations.org.uk/WidenedLines.html (Second image on this page, I can't get the link to the actual picture because of it's formatting) I've seen plenty of people cutting bricks to good effect on this site, but I was wondering if anyone had more specific information or photos about the bricks and the retaining walls around Farringdon? Especially regarding the height of the walls and the size of the bricks, but any information is greatly appreciated! Unfortunately I don't live close enough by to make a field trip Final question, when designing the brick pattern, does anyone have advice relating to the thickness of the mortar? Should I just aim to mortar cut at the minimum width? Thanks all!
  2. Ever had a spare low-relief building sitting around at home? Forget the backscene, put it wherever you like. https://photos.app.goo.gl/RvIx6DaBs7cYaDRU2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/YspMOefseDKhG0Le2 Found in Melbourne.
  3. Sydney took inspiration and copied the idea- http://www.monorails.org/webpix%202/Sydney04.jpg And the Gold Coast liked it so much they decided to run through two buildings! https://www.instagram.com/p/5J2_mNrukE/ http://cdn.newsapi.com.au/image/v1/621f353084756966c17ef882ba669e30?width=650 Sadly both of these systems recently closed down.
  4. I for one am very grateful for all your 3D printing efforts- your models were the reason I switched to N gauge, and one day (time and funds permitting) I hope to make a few! Alas my attempt at a 455/8 has not gone so well, courtesy of my ignorance of Sketchup's tempermental nature!
  5. Is that 165/166 BigP's model or another creation? It looks impressive!
  6. There's also a reasonable range of 3D printed N gauge EMU bodies available too if you look on Shapeways. From what I've found you can get 313s, 508s, 365/465/466s, 377/379/387s, 378s and there's 455s and a few other units in the works. These can all be fairly easily motorised with a Tomytec chassis or by clipping the bodies onto a 170 chassis. And this is on top of the 319 and 321 units coming soon in RTR and the 350 already available. Obviously a change of scale isn't easy (or cheap), but there's a much wider range of London-based stock available!
  7. I too am another interested party outside the EU and you can certainly count on 2 FCC orders from me when this is sorted!
