Very happy with these;
I need to take the dummy couplings out as they look silly when the fixed bars are used, but it's a vast improvement over the tension locks.

Just picked up my Midland Pullman Mk.3's.... flawless, absolutely flawless. I haven't said that about a Hornby product for three or four years. I've only gone for five coaches due to space restrictions, but will post some photos later.

Does anyone have the new East Midland Mk.3's and the old (2008?) East Midlands power cars? I'm curious as to if they match in colour.

All the mods bar the kickplates and yellow panel seem easy enough to do. I can't wait for mine to arrive.

Trigger pulled on sound fitted D9000.
Now the dilemma is do I keep blue 55022? Hmm

I'm in the same dilemma as I was last year - D9000 or 9016? I ordered D9000 last time and I think I may do again after seeing her in TTG last September. Will it be easy to remove the plaque above the bodyside number and the shed plates?

At the moment, the rewards points can't be used with instalments, (but you do earn more points as you pay)
Thanks :) I need some buffer stops anyway so will use the points for those.

Thanks :)
I have some accuraclub coupons to use but I can't seem to apply them when paying with installments. Should I be able to apply them?

Add the model(s) you want to your basket then click onto your cart. you’ll find pay later and pay installments options under the checkout button.
Thanks, I'm a bit nervous with going so far through the checkout process to find the options as with some online retailers the second you head for the checkout it just triggers your PayPal / added card and pays straight away.

Fantastic :)
Does the normal payment option take the money there and then, or when the models come into stock? I haven't used this option before is all.

D’Oh! my apologies. It’s late and i’m getting my classes mixed up!
The ready deltic includes the stay alive and sugar cube speaker so will work out of the box with a sound chip but you will need to pop off the body to fit the accurathrash speaker for the full deltic experience.
Hi McC,
No worries at all, thankyou for the email communication and amendment of the order :)

You just need the chip too (which pops in under the magnetic roof) as the ready version has all the speakers already inside.
Ooh thankyou, I nearly just bought the speaker too.

Edit: Order placed :)

Hi @60800,
You will need to take the body off, but after that it just plugs directly into the PCB and the space is already there for it. That's it really.
Cheers!

Hi Fran, thanks that's great. I had it in my head it fitted in the fuel tanks, but this is much easier.

Hi everyone,
Great news! After literally months sitting in customs our new Deltic Accurathrash Loksound 5 decoders have FINALLY arrived at our warehouse.
We will be going through them now and get them shipping out from early next week. It's been torturous getting them through customs, and we thank you all so much for your patience.
You can order yours here if you want to get one: https://www.accurascale.com/collections/dcc-decoders-and-accessories/products/accurathrash-class-55-deltic-dcc-sound-decoder
Cheers!
Fran
Hi Fran, stupid question here but I'll ask anyway. If I wanted to fit a sound decoder and the necessary accurathrash speaker to one of my DCC ready 55's, how much work is it to fit the speaker in particular? I notice it says plug and play which is great, but how much disassembly of the loco is needed?

Multiple varieties of black tho - LMS, LNER, WD. Then there are the overseas variants (have a look at this months Steam Railway - Iraq State Railways green!), Longmoor Military Railway blue (4 of them and named) possible and in preservation we have also had BR lined maroon!
Multiple detail differences across the 852 built
More variety of 8F available than rebuilt MN :)
I wasn't aware that Longmoor had blue 8F's, it really is true you learn something new every day.
I had thought about the continental examples, but wouldn't the tooling need alerting significantly to do them?
I'm not sure how I forgot the Maroon 8F - I saw it when it was grimed up at the GC with poster paints and half of it had washed off revealing the colour underneath.

For a rebuilt MN, just two "in service" liveries, BR green, early and late emblem. Plus blue for 35005 in preservation.
It's all the different tenders, of which Hornby has covered just two* in twenty years, that provide the real opportunities for breaking new ground.
Cut-down versions of 5,000g., 5100g*, 6,000g*, BR rebodied 5250g, Coal weighing tender, rebodied ex-coal weighing tender (like the 5250g, but on the longer underframe of the 6,000g type).
A couple of the early rebuilds ran on test with the tender raves intact, though they'd also need to do the WR Dynamometer car to go with those.😃 So a possible seven/eight between a class of 30 locos, some of which ran with different types at different times.
I think there were variations within the 5100g tenders, too, but they may have been made uniform by the time of the rebuilding programme.
Not for nothing is one of the chapters of Mr Derry's book on the class entitled "The Tender Trap".
John
Hi John,
Apologies for the confusion, what I meant with more appealing livery wise is that the MN's are lined green whereas the only options for the 8F are unlined black.
It does look to be a bit of a minefield with MN tenders, but I would love to see the loco tackled properly.
I can quite happily state that if they did 35028 as preserved, 35005 in Blue and 35030 in GC Railtour condition I would snap them up in a heartbeat

I have a gut feeling that we may get a Merchant Navy from Accurascale this year.
That and the 8F have been left an as open goal as the current models are now extremely outdated, but the Merchant is more appealing livery wise and a number of locos could be provided in end of steam condition, either smart for railtours or heavily weathered sans nameplates.
I would like to see how Accurascale would tackle a Pacific - could we see two trailing trucks in the box? One fixed with the option of a flanged or flangeless wheelset inside scale frames and another on a pivot in over-wide low relief frames like the Bachmann A2?

Picked up the LSL Midland pair from my local yesterday. Very nice models, but the tooling is definitely showing it's age now. Livery application is not perfect, but it's much better than the LNER farewell set. Looking forward to the coaches arriving for this.

Sounds like the cue for some (shhhhhhhhh.....!!!!) modelling!
Perhaps that's why they've done it this way, two contrasting East Coast PCs and a bite at the EMR cherry using an aftermarket decal supplier.
Which I would do if I didn't already have the NRM version of 43238. When the East Midlands power cars arrive at least one will be getting a renumber and both will have EMR logos.

I'm amazed by the lack of an LNER Claret and white class 91. 43238 in flying tomato condition is welcome, but I do wish they would have stuck EMR logos on instead.

Unlike those who've been waiting all these years for the models to appear, I never really had a 59 in my plan. I'd been considering a 66 (or similar), but the Bachmann 66 is too old and the Hattons 66 has too many issues for my liking.
I visited my local today for some new track cutters and ended up walking out with this; (and the track cutters)
It's a really lovely, solid looking model. The only faults I can find are that the headlights and bogie steps need a touch up of paint, but apart from that I'm very happy with it.

Who needs Intercity when you have RFD? 😉
Ok, we'll have a little bit of Intercity to make up the trio. Just the 89 to go!

Edit: The headlight glass requires little cleanup to make it fit properly, but apart from that just wow.... Never mind the loco, the packaging and paperwork alone are just incredible. There's even a set of blinds for the cab windows!

Hornby 2021 - HST & Mk3 range
in Hornby
Posted
Had a shuffle around to make room to hook the whole set up. I've had some questions on Facebook about the running qualities of these coaches after some disappointment others have had with the East Coast ones.
The coaches do not run overly noisily and have no issue going though peco code 75 turnouts from what I can tell.
I have some corrected horn grilles on the way for the power cars which I'm looking forward to fitting. I'll likely fit the nameplates at the same time.
Cheers,
