  3. Dapol press release

Pricing on OO Gauge MJA & IDA Twin Pack Wagons

We have been notified of a costing error on the OO wagon series for the MJA and IDA Twin Pack Wagons. Unfortunately, this mean the Recommended Retail Prices of the wagons need to be amended. We are extremely sorry for this and the inconvenience this will undoubtedly cause. Dapol have absorbed as much of these increases as possible, but to remain viable we have to pass some of the costs on.

For customers who have pre-ordered any of these items, we would suggest you contact your retailers to amend or cancel their orders as appropriate.

Dapol would like to stress that this adjustment has nothing to do with the retailers and is beyond their control and is a necessary adjustment due to a costing error.

Once again we would like to apologise for this and hope it does not spoil your enjoyment of these oncoming releases.

  4. That's interesting as my Harry Beck hasn't arrived yet and I ordered it in May.

    Anyone else still waiting a pre-order ?

I think I'm going to have to have a bit of a moan at them tomorrow..

I spoke to them on Thursday and they told me that all pre orders would be sent out by the end of the week,

  6. The layout is nearly ready for its second outing this year. We have made a new fiddle yard on a traversa instead of using the cassette system we had a Manchester due to it not being reliable. Should have some pictures soon. The layout next outing is a skipton show in August using 1980's/90's stock

  7. Well the layout is now back home from its debut exhibition, all in all the layout ran very well apart from a few troubles with the fiddle yard I was using a cassette system but the connection weren't great and we had some derailments in the fiddle yard so we are going to change these to a standard fiddle yard using track and points, so it looks like the layout is going to grow a bit in length to accommodate these changes. I'll up load so pics later on today of the week end

  11. Just to add a little to this. The LTM have told me that indeed "around 500" of each model is being produced which I guess means either 504 or 512 as that is the normal Bachmann limited edition run (or multiples of). They also said that the remaining batch of models are to be split between in-store and online availability - not sure if that is an equal split. So as suggested above I wouldn't hang around when 'Harry Beck' becomes available to pre-order again if you want to secure one and wont have easy access to visit the museum when they are released.

I'm not so sure however about the emerging trend to pay up front when pre-ordering limited edition models (that is the case for both these and Rail Express' 66 720). Normal protocol was for payment to be taken upon despatch.

I've asked the question to the lmt wether you have to pay in full now or pay when despatched and the answer is yes you do have to pay now just like the rail express limited edition (so it looks like an expensive month for me)
