  1. Thank you gentelmen for your input. This shows me what to do. I do prefer the "nut on the end" type of buffer fittings, but it will be fun to try these. Thank you again, Best wishes, Paul
  2. Does anyone have the instructions for 71564 buffers. They do not have springs and nuts as most sprung buffers do, they just have a fret of brass bits. Any help welcome. Best wishes, Paul

  7. Hi all, I am building a Churchward 3500 gal tender and I need some wheels.. On the slaters list, they say the wheels for the tender are 4ft 1 1/2in that is 28.7mm in 7mm scale. On a 43xx kit that I have, has tender wheels of 25mm which is 3ft 7in. Can anyone tell me which is correct ?
  8. Thank you for your replies. It seems Peco and Slaters are different sizes where the wheels slide on. I do not have a lathe, so could not turn down a length of rod to fit. Any other information welcome. Best wishes, Paul
  9. I have some Peco wagon wheels ( 3ft 1in ) with bent axles. I tried to buy some replacement ones from Peco who said they could only supply ones they had taken apart for me at £4 a set (2 axles and 4 bearings ) As Slaters provide bearings at £8 for 20, and axles at 59p each, these Peco ones seem very expensive. Does anyone know where I can get Peco sized bearings and Axles at a better price?

  12. Hi everyone, and Happy Christmas to all, Can anyone tell me how to cover a roof with a paper napkin to make it look like a cloth covering. I am building a parcel van, and I will need 2 pieces of plastic to form the roof, so I hope the paper napkin would hide the join. Any other ideas would be welcome. Best wishes, Paul
