  1. The Royal Ordnance factory in Nottingham was next to Lenton Junction. It is now the NG2 Business park. ROB
  2. Fantastic photos again but I suspect this is a down train rather than an up. If it was going to London it would be on the goods lines and I think we should be able to see Nottingham South Goods signal box. Rob
  3. Rob F

    Dapol 'Western'

The trackwork looks superb as well! Rob
  4. During my teenage years in the mid 80s my regular haunt was Arkwright Models on Gordon Road in West Bridgford, Nottingham run by Peter Gurd. He could usually be found in the dark recesses at the back of shop hidden in a fug of cigar smoke. I think he still trades at swapmeets and the like. He was responsible for my dual powered Lima HST with a Zero1 chip in each end. Rob
  5. Worth a look this morning. The sea is quite rough! ROB
  6. Does look great and I will probably be having a couple (especially if the 3 car unit appears!) but, sadly, not unil they appear in the original Metro red and cream. ROB
  7. After a period this morning when the camera was offline, it is now back and, what is more, the sea is now level! ROB
  8. The 13:18 from Dawlish to Cardiff was a three car class 158 again today. Is this a regular diagram? ROB
  9. What, you mean the sea isn't actually on a slope?! ROB
  10. Just seen a 3 car FGW class 158 heading towards Exeter. I thought 158s were pretty rare down there these days. ROB
  11. When I watch the cam on my iPad the adverts don't appear. Just tried on the PC and I see what you mean. ROB
  12. If you haven't noticed already, a webcam has been installed near the coastguard bridge, looking at the railway on the sea wall, just east of Dawlish station. http://cdn.livestream.com/embed/RCDawlish?layout=4&color=0xe7e7e7&autoPlay=true&mute=false&iconColorOver=0x888888&iconColor=0x777777&allowchat=false Worth a look. Rob
  13. Nonsense. Nottingham and Leicester are both significant cities and Derby is not far behind. Nottingham in particular always appears smaller than it is as much of the contiguous built up area is not included in the population figure for the city. By the time you add in Beeston, West Bridgford, Arnold, Chilwell etc you end up with metropolitan area that rivals Sheffield in size. Rob
  14. I would definitely take a 3 car and a 2 car in original Metro red and cream. The pre-production models look fantastic. ROB
  15. Is it just me or does it look a bit, well, toy-like? ROB
