Hi,
I have a ESU loksound version 5, do I have to use an ESU power pack or can use a power pack I already have (Lais stay alive)? Don't want to kill the decoder!!

Hi Ray
Not sure about the large version decoders but this is what it says for version 5.0 - you need to tell the decoder the SSP (smart power pack) is there and which output function is being used, which is AUX 9 for a loksound 5 and AUX 7 for a Locksound 5 micro. First ensure CV31=16 and CV32=0 to gain access to the correct index, and for a Loksound 5 set CV339 to 31, and for a Loksound micro set CV323 to 31.

Hi matt
I have a V5.0 decoder with a power pack and it says in the instructions that you have to let the decoder know you have a power pack fitted using various cv's, I'm not at home at the moment so I can't check, I'll try and post the details tomorrow.

Hi Rich
I have 3 Vitrains 37s - all you have to do is bend down the two small pins that stick out either side of the gear tower - that should lower it by a couple of mm.

I did include the firmware version, V3.20, which seems to be the current one, in my mail back to them.

Hi Rob
I'm pretty new to DCC but I had this problem with TTS chips - I only have a small test plank but I found that if one of my locos still had the factory setting of 3 because I hadn't programed it yet, it would cause the other locos to move, as soon as it was programed all was fine, I use a Powercab BTW.

It will be interesting to see if the height of these matches their MK1s or their existing MK2s!!

Following on from my Colas Clas 47 buffer beam issue, i have a number of Vitrains Class 47 shells, having searched for a while for spare vitrains class 47 chassis's to no avail, I was wondering would the shell fit a Hornby/Bachmann/Heljan Class 47 chassis? obviosuly i would imagine a bit of fettling would be involved, but could anyone recommend the best chassis with the smooths of fits?
Again kind regards for any help provided.
Tom
Hi,
This is my Hornby body/Heljan chassis class 47. The Heljan chassis does take a bit of thinning down so it is possible to fit other bodies.

Thanks for all your replies, I have checked the accessories pack, and there is nothing matching the Buffer beam shape, it is only just pipes and other parts that are in the box, so maybe they person who sold it has used them on another model.
Hi
I have a couple of spares that I don't need, I replaced mine with Heljan items. PM me and I can post them to you if you want.
