Thanks for the info,i have a sound loco not run for many years and was running slow found 1 bogie was very tight. I have removed the bogie and found the grease had hardened on the drive shaft into the gear box . I have removed the hardened grease and relubed current drain is now 300ma instead of 700ma which was making the sound chip get a bit warm . Does anyone know how to clean the pickups on these locos has they appear to be in the wheel bearings, not sure how the bogie comes apart cheers Dave

Power supply for point motors

hi I use a transformer with 2 x12v ac outputs for aux supplies and a 24v ac for the cdu that works approx. 15 points with 2 x crossovers with 2 points operating together hope that helps -
hi my comment was not intended as anegative issue best to look around for a long stat car should be a few about. I would sooner spend £60 at the exhibition than a fine to a car park company. apart from that looking forward to the show and might be a bit more room at this venue Dave

its not no rail station at Swad either go to derby or burton on trent and then get bus or taxi to venue Dave

hi Ive been told by my local model shop that Bachmann will not be obtaining any stock of any kind until the middle of this year as they are moving factoriehs in China and so have halted all production till then so that could even more delays Dave

hi I would check the connections to the speaker to check they have not come detached. if ok then disconnect I wire to the speaker and with a test meter you should get approx. 8 ohms across it.I have had a TTS speaker on a class 47 go completely open cct and sent for a better quality speaker from Digitrains ,they would advise the best one for you . hope that helps Dave

Hornby already do a brcw 110 but the brcw 104 was more widespread and can be done in green , blue , bluegrey and nse just needs new window arrangement on the cab and a motor upgrade ie dcc ready Dave l

hi all at least in BRM you get layout articles. I have subscribed to Rail Express for a number of years and I cant remember the last time a layout appeared in it. it is more like a review mag than a modelling mag if it does not improve when my sub is up for renewal in December then I wont be renewing cheers Dave

Hi Chris Sometimes Lima diesels can be tight on the power bogie end so derail on points etc. I find if you scrap a Stanley knife around the curved part of the chassis power bogie end very carefully a bit at a time then this should make the bogie pivot easy cheers and good luck

hi I applied for 2 part time posts at maplins one before Christmas which I got no feedback and then the same post again in jan which my application was still being dealt with when they went bust . the application said no electronics experience needed we will train you. my previous job was with BT for 42 years working in electronics but that seemed to make no difference,perhaps they did me a favour and saved me from being made redundant after 2 weeks Dave

hi weve got a bosch dishwasher that kept giving a loud bang and burning smell once when switched on and once when off but still plugged in . after 3 visits from eng fault traced to suppressor under machine which was close to catching fire . you need to tip machine to one side to check . hope this is of help

hi has anyone seen the video of hornbys latest class 37 37040 it as a class 37/4 body with air horns on a class 37/0 no range with a very poor rendition of split headcode boxes as well . Seeing as Lima did a split headcode class 37 there should be no excuse for this would only buy for the chassis and throw the body in the dustbin Dave

hi Ian if you use the heathcote board you can get the one with LED panel indication and change over relay built on the board for frog polarity change .cheers Dave
