Got a bit of a nice problem with the DCC sound models........ too many sound functions! My poor controller can only go up to function 20. Has anyone found a way to remap functions to further down the function list? For example I can't access F25 (engine room lights) so would like to replace it with F19 (sound fade) since I would get more fun from engine room lights.
If its easy enough to do it might be a nice guide to add to the collection Accurascale?
With these increasingly complex decoders I’d strongly suggest using JMRI/DecoderPro to do the programming. It makes moving functions around a breeze (and it also allows you to “back up” all the cv settings, so you can “restore” them if things go awry - that’s the first thing I’ll do with mine)

Just an update I was given by someone at Rails……
The Rails/DPS Deltics have been delayed slightly in between A (Accurascale) and B (Rails). I presume the same applies to the ones going to Locomotion, but can’t confirm.
They are all ready to send out as soon as they arrive but that could be Friday, though possibly tomorrow.
So, I’d suggest very earliest deliveries would be Monday next week, or if the gods are smiling, possibly Saturday at a push…..
Any idea who Rails use for deliveries? We have a broad range of “skills” delivering here, and as we’re about to head for Greece shortly I’d like to think it’d be left somewhere”safe”…….

I think the reference was that somebody was trying to use a MKL decoder when they shouldn't be.
Roy
Wish people would start using Plux22 - much less scope for confusion

R2 = 438mm/18 inches
Thanks for that (I did also just spot that in the doc!)
For those following along at home, Rocoline track R2 is a ridiculous 358mm (thanks heavens there isn't an R1!)
Their R3 is 419.6mm and R4 481.2mm
When either of my two arrive (Rails and Locomotion) I'll see what it thinks of the 419.6mm R4........ After all, it's "only" 19mm tighter radius than recommended

Could I add another “vote” for spare buffer beams??
As these seem to be easily removable, it’d be useful to be able to switch between fully detailed and not

Hi @Motorway12,
Sorry to hear this as the Deltics can easily cope with R2. Can you check the back to backs of the wheels, and email us with your order number support@accurascale.co.uk should you require further assistance?
Cheers!
Fran
For those of us using “foreign” fixed dimension track, what radius is “R2” please?

Careful Mark, you'll be upsetting the 37 lovers as there were more of them so they must be better than a 31.
And let's not forget 50s, so that make d*lt*cs 4th in line...........................

On my iPad iOS 15.5 Safari loads it automatically but both chrome and Firefox have to be manually refreshed (pull down and release) before they both work. No idea why!
Aha! Didn’t know you could do that. Now I can get Chrome to open the page, though Safari, Opera and Firefox all refuse to play ball

On my laptop, yes. On my iPad no
Which is a pain. My pc is hardly ever on these days
Happy to help debug (and so far as I know, no ad blockers)
UPDATE. Tried Safari and Opera on iPad too - not working for those either

Hmm. When I click on that link, I get the Support page ok, but nothing to download or read. Does it work for others??
UPDATE. These links worked on my pc earlier, but now I’m on my iPad they don’t bring up the details. Tried Chrome and Firefox :(

They are cracking locos. I went for normal DCC ready. Two of them have been for a spin today using cheap decoders to just give them a test run. Very smooth and quiet runners. The access to the decoder space is good.
I will have to do the FP shot later in the week. Along with other people, I am now thinking 'why didn't I order my favourite (18)?'
Any future models will probably be a sound fitted version.
I really don't know what can be said that already hasn't.
Out of interest, which decoders did you use? Did you get all light functions working??

My RoS Deltic was charged for on 6th without any pre warning email. It'd be nice to receive an email prior to charging from RoS!
Totally agree. Locomotion sent me an email requesting the balance, so it’s not impossible
But I did ask Rails and they said it”could be done” but would “slow down despatch”.
Still think it’s bad business practice though to take money without warning nor explanation

Theres only 5 left now.. one is the “as built” D9004, the rest are the dead zone of the hobby.. c1967-c1973 post end of steam and before TOPS when most enthusiasts were licking their end of steam wounds.
Ooh. The “time before TOPS”. Anyone else remember trying to keep your ABCs up to date with the renumbering??

Ditto for one. No email from Rails but just happened to notice the dent in the bank account.
Another announcement from Accurascale this morning. Impressive. I reckon the team combo of model railway enthusiasts and top notch business heads is resulting in the outcome we are seeing. Leading the way.
Me too. A (not really) surprise transaction via PayPal. Yayyyyy
That said, I wish they would send information about how much they’re charging. Then I wouldn’t be guessing about the few quid extra (shipping?.). In any case, my Rails account has yet to be updated……..

Hi everyone,
Time for another Deltic related announcement.
Presenting... AccuraFolk! No, it's not a new musical movement combining Irish folk movement with Napier drone. It is a new range of driver figures and accessories!
We teamed up with the great people at Modelu to design a driver and secondman crew for our Deltics.
Using 3D scanning and printing technology and a 1969 issue BR uniform we have since created a coloured 3D print of driver and secondman specifically for our Deltics.
Check out the whole story in our latest blog (including how a Hobnob almost got us in trouble!) and pre-ordering information. https://accurascale.co.uk/blogs/news/new-announcement-crew-your-deltics-with-accurafolk
We will of course look to expand this British designed and made range should this first run prove successful.
Cheers!
Fran

Hello, we identified an issue within our system where it has added postage for those who have already paid postage at deposit stage.
Please be rest assured this will be refunded in due course for anyone charged postage twice.
Thanks
Tom
Thanks Tom. Figured it was an error
Appreciate the speedy acknowledgement

If you get a 636 C or D you can change to the other via CVs I believe.
That only changes FO3 and 4. FO5 and 6 are always full function voltage. If the Deltic requires logic level on these, then I need a newer MS (sound) decoder

I had a slightly different experience with Locomotion, I got my email this morning as well - when checking out the postage charge was applied during the payment process but it did say in the email requesting payment that it would be added although not how much it would be. It didn’t come as a surprise and I’m guessing they couldn’t put it in the email as it hadn’t been calculated at that point.
I’ve just checked back to my deposit and that didn’t have a delivery charge on itThanks - I’ll wait to hear from them. There certainly wasn’t any mention of a delivery charge in the email - just a request for the £130 balance,,,..

Hi @philg,
Many thanks for your patience on this one, but I felt it best to get the correct answer for you. AUX3, AUX4 need to be logic level as per VHDM standard and are so on our Deltics.
Cheers!
Fran
Sorry to resurrect an old question, but are there other function outputs that also need to be logic level? Not sure how many lighting outputs the Deltic is using, but are F5 and F6 used? On my chosen (Zimo) brand, these two are always full voltage so if they also need to be logic level I’m hitting a snag
Thanks

Have you questioned why two delivery charges before you posted it here? it should be an error surely
Indeed. I sent a note to Loco option straight away
tbh, I was equally irritated about them not telling me they’d added a delivery charge until I was actually making the payment
The post here was more about making others aware

Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Posted
I’ve yet to see my two, but to be honest I’m really not sure how Accurascale have done what they’ve done for the price. Compare to someone else’s “all singing” class 47 at around another hundred quid!
Hats off to everyone at Accurascale Towers
