  1. Thanks to John posting his correct email address I've now pre-ordered a model of D1062 so WLA still have some of those left.  Another worthwhile cause as some of the funds go towards the upkeep of the real D1062.

    Hi Martin,

Sorry you have'nt had much luck in your attempts to order one of our D1062 Models. The fact you live abroad is no barrier to you buying one.You can indeed pay by Bank Transfer.I have put the Link above to the WLA Sales Page.If you click on that then click on the link  .....to celebrate the 50th anniversary of D1062Western Courier in 2013...........      ........you can download an Order Form.

Otherwise you can email me, my address is indeed t.hallowes015@btinternet.com with your address details & I will give you our Bank details in order for you to do a transfer.

I check my emails every day & always reply.I usually try to reply the same day but sometimes it may take a day or two. I've received no enquiries or orders for the Model (by email) for several weeks. I hope this is ok & clarifies things for you.

    Best wishes,

    John (Kite)

    Hi John

No problem, I'm glad you've posted.

Problem here also is that the postal system just doesn't work so downloading the form to make an order via post wasn't an option either.  On the email - I actually sent email's to that address on 17th and 28th June and have just send another so I hope you can pick that up.  If you don't see it please drop me a PM and I'll send detail over that way.

Thanks again for making contact via this thread.  I'm looking forward to adding D1062 to my fleet.

  3. Seriously though, having seen the model today when it was handed over to our Sales Director I am truly impressed and Pete has surpassed all expectations in this project :)

Absolutely...that is stunning.  Can't wait for this to be released, just need biff to go and record one so we can have DCC sound.

    Stoneblower next please Pete....... ;)

  4. Thanks Richard.

As I said previously, I don't live in the UK and haven't had a cheque book for years.  I want to make contact in order to arrange an electronic payment if possible.

Can you perhaps email Paul Davies and ask he if would be willing for you to pass his email address on to me via PM?

  5. I've drawn a total blank Sam - no answer from website contact, no answer from email sent and no telephone numbers.  They certainly don't make it easy to contact them!

Does anyone have any idea how to make contact with the WLA guys???

  6. Thanks Dave but I don't think I made it clear...I've seen that but I don't live in the UK, let alone, no longer have a cheque book!

So I'd like to contact them directly to see if electronic payment can be made.

  7. Think this was asked a while back but at 102 pages now I can't find it!

I'm interested in a D1062 from the Western Locomotive Asssociation (if they have any left of course) but can't find any direct contact details for WLA.  Send a couple of messages via their website but no answer.

    Any ideas who to contact?

  8. Anyway to follow my own advice I've phoned them up and paid for it.

I was thinking the same thing about the email Andy but that ^^ is good advice, think I'll do the same, just to make sure.

Roll on the Ltd Edn WLA machine!

PS - and to Chris...don't worry about the review because at the end of the day, it is just that, a review and there's far more important things in life and the world to get worked up over, especially as I cannot believe for a second that any serious adult British Railway Modeller would make a purchase decision on a model of this level of perfection after reading a very small critique .  For my part, keep up the good work at MR Chris, your comments in Doha are always highly welcome.

  9. D1000 'Western Enterprise' models for Steam museum at Swindon have been dispatched today and will be there tomorrow.

I think the term is commonly referred to as "Woohoo"...and not often one can say this but I can't wait for the email asking for payment

  10. On the design aspect Dave, I personally don't agree with Hornby's "design clever" approach and would rather pay more money for a more detailed (separately fixed parts) model.

Haven't seen the magazine yet but I would have thought from what I've read here the model would have achieved a rating of more than 92%.

  11. Hi Martin,

I am in the process of putting Ian (Leggomanbiffo) togetehr with the WLA at the SVR to record D1062 when she comes out of winter hibernation. (might be 6-8 weeks away)

Between them they should get the definitive sound recording of one of these beasts.

    Cheers

    Dave

That is great news, thanks Dave.

Thanks Mike, I'll keep an eye on that website.

I was lucky to catch 60010 in ex-works condition at Toton back in October.

  14. I think I'm becoming a Dapol convert, every few days their is another reason to just buy their stuff!! Having followed a few threads from DapolDave and reading his desire to achieve almost perfection at almost whatever cost. Their customer interaction and requests for info far surpass any of the other big manufacturers, and that attitude also buys customers. Look forward to the releases, and a merry Xmas to Dave and all at Dapol.

Agree with all of this.  Nice one Dave, a NR version pre-ordered.

    Keep up the great work!

  15. You'll probably want the prices too, Martin... which have a £50+ range (Hattons compared to Steam Swindon)... so maybe a visit to each of the web sites will be necessary. Took me about 5 mins to get all the info.

Thanks Alan, just done this and drawn up a least 3 for the must have list...just got to get my CEO/COO/CFO (otherwise known as SWMBO) to agree the commercial authorisation now!

    Martin

  16. Apologies if I've missed it but I'm getting confused with how many machines are being released so can someone please post a current planned model production list.

I'm really looking forward to this one and don't want to miss out on a potential purchase because I didn't know about it!

    Thanks

    Martin
