  1. Well, many thanks for a most interesting discussion. I will think on't I don't really need sound though I do need DCC so I might look at some of the slightly older models. Thanks again.
  2. My layout is DCC so I'm not sure about some of the older castles. Would you class this specimen as a a bargain, as Rails does? https://railsofsheffield.com/br-4-6-0-earl-of-st-germans-4073-castle-class-br-early-with-tts-sound-JJJA29907
  3. Not sure if this is the right forum but... What is the best currently available RTR example of a GWR Castle?
  4. Having rewatched the film recently I consider this to be a bargain. https://railsofsheffield.com/the-railway-children-collectable-train-pack-JJJA26070 IMHO
  5. I think a certain degree of discussion, commenting on a particular model which featured as a bargain, was permissible but it became silly when individuals tried to be funny. And failed (IMHO). So, regretfully, I'm a bargainista.
  6. Love the Austin A40! I used to have one of those, though they're a when the front suspension arms start playing up.
  7. Many thanks for feedback. Would love to help out with project, I'm going to Stafford group on Tuesday.
  8. Hi, Just joined today after reading your article in Railway Modeller. I am a complete novice and have just rediscovered an interest in modelling GWR steam, especially West Bromwich town staion as it was in the 1950s. I have today posted some pictures of the track-bed of the GWR line taken in the 1970s before the Metro was built which may be of interest to your project and possibly some help. Also some pictures of the canals and locks along the BCN, again takenin the early 1970s. Look forward to seeing your project grow. https://secure.flickr.com/photos/52793272@N03/
