It’s alive!! Spent the morning fitting Biff’s decoder and connecting the stay alive which was very easy to connect, I’ll be ordering more for my other locos as it’s very good. Next up, re-numbering and weathering.

Cheers mate, this is the first time I’ve used them in years, I’ve not used todays delivery yet but from a customer service point of view they were great and arrived within three days. Hopefully I’ll get it numbered over the next few days

On a more positive note these arrived today so I can crack on and get D326 finished hopefully within the next few days. Then it’ll be on to the next project for the depot, fuel storage tanks!

I’ve got one here that I saved you 😉🍩 I was proud I did what I could throughout the pandemic and I wear my railway service badge with pride but I think we all agree a thank you would of gone a long way mate.

I’m sorry to hear about your friends brother but you can’t blame the railway for that, if I hit news someone close was ill I certainly wouldn’t be getting the train or public transport. I won’t grow up I’m old enough thanks but I’ll get back to playing with my toy trains, have a great evening 👍🏼

You obviously listen to all the media hype, if the torries etc get there way you’ll be travelling DOO within months with no station staff etc to help you. Do you think we enjoy striking? Loosing days of pay to try and protect ours and other jobs? I’d rather be in working than eating doughnuts, working like we did throughout covid whilst the majority of the country sat on there arsed furloughed or working from home without any thanks. I’ll leave it there

Pickups where soldered on last night from the bogies to the circuit board and tested, if I get time later I’ll fit the chip that’s in the other 40 and attach the stay alive. Once that’s all up and running it’s just a matter of renumbering and weathering

Firstly I’d like to say what a great turn out for the RMT at Lime Street today and across country ✊🏼 As for the modelling just done a bit more on the 40, numbers are in the post from Railtec so D326 will have it’s proper identity shortly, I’ve also started weathering the bogies and the Maskol has been applied ready for the buddy to be dirtied up.

The deltic look fantastic and I nearly ordered one but the slightly underscale wheels were a deal breaker for me, so thought I’d save my pennies

They’re very useful I sometime let the mrs use them to cook… oh wait I do the cooking 🤔

It’s something I’m tempted to do to but like you say a bit of weathering and they don’t look to bad. The ride height is the one thing that really lets the model down and this day an age should be addressed by Bachmann. I just hope Accurascale announce a 40 soon although I’d be skint 😂

Majority of the under frame detail is now finished just a few more bits to add then I can start weathering, must admit I’ve put more effort into detailing this than I did with my 7mm 40

I had made bearers for the body and bogies but with lowering the ride height it was just to close for comfort so just the chassis has them fitted

A little posed shot before the bar opens, well it is Saturday 😊🍺 I’m hoping to get the bearer pads started tomorrow then I can add the few little other bits, sound fit it then weathering can begin

Happy with them, next up bogie bearer pads, also a photo of the steam pipes etc fitted to the bogie

Body lifting points made tonight, not my favourite job but went a bit easier than last time
