  1. Hattons prices on Heljan Westerns have increased in last few days.
  2. I had a look at all of the models on Heljan's stand. TBH couldn't tell if headcodes are changed - all the models with small yellow panels looked right, the ones with full yellow ends appeared a bit low, maybe someone with old/new can do the measurement to prove it one way or the other?
  3. Hi - has anyone used Lenz 3 way point ref 45036? I am wondering if it is compatible with Peco track? Trying to find a ready-made 3 way point as I am not a track builder but need a (relative) space saver. Thanks.
  4. A little more of the snail's pace progress. A lot more detailing and colour required yet.
  5. Good publication and PAUL A LUNN lots or useful PAUL A LUNN information buried in the PAUL A LUNN articles. I think the PAUL A LUNN editorial mentions that it is all written by PAUL A LUNN but still it's good to repeat PAUL A LUNN at the start of each one
  6. A picture including some of the layout of the sidings is here : http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/51722-railways-around-stokestaffordshire-in-the-1970s1980s/?p=2949772
  7. And a little more progress - construction work is very slow here...
  8. Nigel, have a look at this, it should answer most questions http://www.svrlive.com/traffic-notices-and-wtt
  9. Attended the diesel gala today - very nostalgic. Plenty of photo opportunities in between the haulage.
  10. Well after various changes to the available space, dismantling the first effort http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/69781-buckland-newton-sd/ and a bit of a rebuild I ended up starting with fresh boards. I realised that all I need is a roundy roundy and a loco shed plus storage - although the storage will be in the form of a small terminus (Dorchester North) with carriage sidings. Basically, it's assuming the S&D remained open and a branch was opened and remains open to Dorchester - as I've got diesel era stock and S&D stock I think there will be a timewarp between the terminus (1950s/1960s) and the main board (1980s/90s) but hey, that's why we are lords of our own little universes! The plan is from a CJ Freezer book, albeit with loco shed instead of station/yard on the main board - it means that locos can be turned running from/to the terminus. Everything is being kept simple as I'm not a fan of lots of wires, so it's DC, code 100 and wire-in-tube point control where possible. Progress so far :
  11. Possibly a rarity in preservation on the mainline, Sonning Cutting, No.19 taken from No.22, can't remember date though.
  12. Has anyone got photos of 55016 at Exeter St Davids on 28/11/81? I was there and my camera jammed, film snapped and that was that! Still remember the sound as it went up to Exeter Central though, fantastic.

Dropped into Trident Trains near Nantwich today (usual disclaimer, satisfied customer) - 4 x maroon Westerns there.
