4014 was real cool when she rolled through town.

OK, different from the ALCO I expected. I think mostly by virtue of being Baldwin.

Without a picture, I'd wager the 0-6-0 tender switcher is the USRA Standard 0-6-0.

The suit is a 'ui, the dude I couldn't say, and the officer is an ethereal.

@PannierTanker14I appreciate the compliment. Yeah, Tau will likely rule, if Farsight doesn't go wild.

Just Googled silly putty, it looks fun! Does it stick to the surface or how do you get it to stay put while painting?
I forgot Silly Putty was an American thing. Yeah, it does stick, but there is almost no residue. Makes a nice alternative to masking tape. It doesn't stick super well. Care must be taken when handling a model masked with Silly Putty.

Admittedly, that loco is the only reason I’d ever want to go to America...and also to see the A4 60008 Dwight D Eisenhower... but mostly 4014.
Those photos are great. They help with prototyping.
The Ike is maybe two hours from me, yet I have never been up to see it. I need to make a trip of it sometime.

I like those, er, paint sticks. Those clips at the end suggest you also sometimes mount them in a different way?
Yessir. For these chumps, the clips were useless. I normally use the clips to hold parts. These modelling-specific items from Mr. Hobby, but I reckon they would be easy to fashion from skewers and alligator clips. The pack of around 40 was $10.

That variety is why I rarely finish anything...

These Gundams scale out close to English N, so I could have my own 'Yard Dinosaur.'

No, the green on the Beetle is two coats of Boyd Lime Pearl over a mostly stripped coat of One Coat Emerald green, both from Testors out of spray-cans. The Mini Lego was an unplanned $50 I didn't need to spend, but I couldn't pass it up.

Modelling that travelling gantry would be worth the trouble in of itself.

Feeling your pain! Re the shoebox.. If you use a thin plywood or MDF, you can probably cut the shapes you need using a stanley knife with a clean blade and a steel ruler. Takes a little longer to score through but more control and no need for power tools!
I'll investigate that. I was just using what I had handy. I have a feeling that 5-ply is a little overkill for a shoebox.

I don't disagree with you, honestly. I'll have to check with some calipers next time I'm near the book.

Through truss girder.
Go to Glasgow on google earth, then follow M8 west and onto the M80. In street view you can clearly see the big one over the M80.
Thank you, almost exactly what I needed to see.

No, of course it isn't.
