  1. Wolverhampton wonderful compared to the backstreets around Southampton high street on a Friday night! Dan, the layouts certainly got that run down, dodgy area. Shame its not a modern era layout or you could have had a few blokes in hoodies milling about suspiciously. In regard to adding tipped garbage have you thought of these: http://scalescenes.com/products/T004-Furniture-and-Lineside-Junk The sofas (couch to the guys over the pond) and tables etc would suit the area with enough vegetation around them. I'm not related to scalescenes just thought the furniture would suit. All the best, Lloyd EDIT: Forgot to put the usual stuff about not being related to companies.
  2. Well as requested, here are the few photos I took of Hacedina Avenue at Ally Pally on Saturday. An overall shot: The bridge over the storm drain: And my favourite photo I took has to be... All the best, Lloyd
  3. If you'd like I can upload the few photos I took of the layout? All the best, Lloyd

  5. You must use the correct terminology Dan. Don't want to upset those rivet counters... All the best, Lloyd
  6. Evening all, I'm slowly converting my n scale american locos to DCC and every installation guide recommends using kapton tape. However, I'm wondering if there are any alternatives to it thats readily available in the UK. I'm sorry if this is a silly, simple question but I'd more rather seem silly than fry my locos! Thanks in advance, Lloyd
  7. I looked at the CM article today and I have to say very well done Ray! I was a little surprised you didn't thank your good friend Mr A. Beer in the conclusion however. All the best, Lloyd
  8. Your weathering looks spot on there Dan! I remember a while ago seeing a photo of a boxcar not to dissimilar from your one on railpictures that a hobo had frequented for a while and as a result, had a funny sort of char mark along one panel where he'd built a fire up along side it and let it burn for the night. Keep up the good work, Lloyd
  9. That looks brilliant Rob. The ballasting looks absolutely spot on for the industrial area to me it seems like it needs a touch of green. Just an idea though. Keep us posted, Lloyd
  10. I'm looking forward to seeing this develop Dan. Just don't let Jordan see that gondola! Sorry F-unit... All the best, Lloyd
  11. That certainly looks the biz Rob. Are you going to add clear gloss into the potholes when you do them to make them full or just leave them as is? Keep us posted, Lloyd
  12. That looks stunning! Did you build the paste up slowly and let it dry between coats or just lather it on? I cannot believe I've missed this thread so far, I must follow it now! All the best, Lloyd
  13. Dan, I've watched you build this layout on here and its inspired me whilst I've been building my layout and its one reason I changed fully from modelling UP to BNSF. The layout looks brilliant and I can't wait to see it at Eastleigh today. All the best, Lloyd
  14. That looks brilliant Rob. Have you tried CG textures for building? Dan recommended the site to me and its all I use for my building now. Its a site full of building textures so you can bash whatever building you need. All the best, Lloyd
  15. I've just been into the kitchen and discovered a cherry bakewell...How topping!

Is this one of the original releases? If so, it is possible to convert to DCC. Easier if you can manage with the lighting!

  21. I've been waiting for an update on this layout. The suspense has been killing me! I think the layouts come along brilliantly although i do believe some of your miniature rszidents should have laid off of the turkey. I remember looking at bar type signals a while ago and I favourited this photo HERE to refer back to. I hope it helps. All the best, Lloyd
  22. champagnes now out!

  23. New year in 15 minutes!

  24. Thanks Roundhouse. I'm stuck between either the proper mrc sd70mac sound decoder or the digtrax sd40-2 sound decoder. Both have mixed reviews but i think I'll go with the digitrax one because they sound more reliable. However, a few reviews say that the decoder cuts out a lot and you must install the supplied capaciter. Will there be enough room in the loco for the vapaciter as the speakers looks to take a lot of room as it is! All the best and thanks for all your help. Lloyd
  25. Thanks for the help Gary. By the seem of it, the sd40-2 sound decoder is a perfect fit for the sd70 frame. Also it seems theres enough room for the speaker also (i hope). All the best, Lloyd
