  1. Oh, you are good. I thought that. I also have concerns over the B. So key question, is this the same font as used on wagons for the G W?
  2. Interesting font. The first line is as typed. Second line I have kerned at +15% and moved in the F Third line is hand kerned.
  3. It does look as if Yahoo have disabled files and archives, so this was my only hope. Many thanks again. Mike
  4. Thanks all. Font now working hard for its keep. Mike
  5. In these difficult times, I can't access the GWR group. Would someone be willing to email me the GWR Nameboards.ttf file? Thanks Mike
  6. I saw Bristol at Uckfield today and have to say it was one of the very best things I have seen in the hobby. Magnificent. And the rest of the show was rather good!
  7. Is there a solid technique for gluing and aligning etch brass nameplates? I am fitting the bird shape to a Heljan 00 Falcon and it took a while to get it straight without glue. I am thinking a tiny dab of cyano but alignment could be stressful. Any advice much appreciated Mike
  8. Thanks all. Found the similar product in the Gibson catalogue which is awkward because I looked last week...
  9. Can anyone ID the maker? Are they by any chance still available? Thanks Mike
  10. Thanks for all the help. Very pleased with the results. And a lot better sniffing Sharpies than metal black...
  11. I have Carrs Metal Black and it just seems to sit on the surface. May be an old bottle. But as I also paint, the Sharpie idea is genius. Thank you.
  12. Afternoon I have been away from the hobby due to illness but good to see the forum still here. I have had some success blackening metals with various chemicals but have no luck with the shiny steel rims of 00 wagons and locos. Can anyone recommend a product or technique that will take a shiny Bachmann, Hornby or Dapol wheel to a dull dark colour? Most galling is that a wagon I worked on yesterday had pre blackened wheels and looks wonderful. Thank you in advance. Mike
