  1. Wow Thanks Jaz, Your model of Pastel is superb and an example of some brilliant modelling / painting . I would never have the patience / skill to model anything like that.
  2. Yes, Dad is very good at metal work. I hope I am not being boring but that tractor in post 3484 looks very much like a Field Marshall. Some of them were fitted with a very clever system that allowed them to be started with a shotgun type cartridge - good videos on the internet showing the procedure. (Apologies for taking over a railway forum talking about tractors)
  3. Here is our 4600 Jaz. it is towards the bottom of the page: http://www.midsuffolkagriphotos.co.uk/gallery/gp1257.htm. edit - The doors are a different colour as they are home made by Dad. The originals rusted away
  4. Jaz, is that a ford 4600 in your picture? If it is we have one of them as well!!
  5. Jaz, Here are some better pictures of Pastel. He looks cute and innocent doesn't he? Don't be fooled. As you can see in the second image he has pulled off a large chunk of wallpaper and has started to scratch the paint off the door. We have bought him a scratching post but he flatly refuses to use it - In his view the walls and door are much better. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45048295/2014-03-12%2013.26.27.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45048295/2014-03-28%2015.44.11.jpg In terms of clothing jeans and a T shirt will do me. My hair colour is brown /auburn. I quite like the sound of the tractor driver or the scarecrow (or anything else you happen to think of)- you choose. Given the tractors I have seen on AV they appear to be models of vintage tractors and someone with a laptop would look out of place. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with given your great work I have seen on this thread so far. Just thought you might like to see a picture of me and Dad in a tractor ploughing a field. The site is owned by a mate of mine. http://www.midsuffolkagriphotos.co.uk/gallery/gp202.htm - if you really want a challenge you could recreate the tractor and plough -(or a combine harvester) but I will be more than happy with a figure.
  6. All this talk of animals - Does AV have a zoo or plans for one?
  7. how about scale mice for the cats to chase?
  8. Could you also model cats, for example Pastel, the 9 month old male kitten/cat in my display picture. I can't recall seeing a cat on AV.
  9. Yep that sounds familiar - I spend far too much time on my laptop but so do most of the students on my course. I think the clue is in the name of the course. Can I have dark hair please?
  10. Jaz, Can I have an avatar please? Something agricultural related. I live on an arable farm and help out when I have time. so, over to you - surprise me. I thought agriculture would be much easier to depict than my current occupation - a student studying computer science - unless you can think of anything computer related - I couldn't.
  11. Those clowns look really good Jaz. Did you make the clown outfits from poly-jester? Also, be careful - we don't want the clowns breaking any funny bones.
  12. Kal, There are some dirty GBRF 66's here http://flickrhivemind.net/Tags/gbrf,rhtt/Recent You will have to model an RHTT (unless you already have one) and you will be able to do some serious weathering.
  13. Road to nowhere - talking heads
  14. Jaz, you could always model something like this. I especially like the name http://metro.co.uk/2014/03/10/beautiful-home-no-chain-lifes-a-bleach-for-couple-who-converted-toilet-block-into-two-bedroom-house-4515552/
  15. I have heard of the headless horse man but it appears Aboretum Valley has a headless horse. Where did you get it as it seems an unusual but interesting addition to the layout?
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgzS18Vktm0 Couldn't resist given all the building work and the talk of cardboard boxes
  17. Lean on me - Bill Withers
  18. Every day I love you less and less - Kaiser Chiefs
  19. Rose garden - Lynn Anderson
  20. Smoke on the water - Deep Purple
  21. LOL - thinking you have a serious water leak when you have been reading the meter upside down!!

  22. Does anyone else remember this series of adverts (4 or 5) from the mid 90's?
  23. Driving in my car - Madness
  24. That is a thought. All of this talk of fish - does Arboretum Valley have a fish and chip shop. I don't think I have seen one (or an ice cream van come to think of it).
