  1. Excellent photos considering the circumstances....in my opinion, the lighting in that display case was too bright even for viewing, let alone photography !
  2. Perhaps that's why someone posted a spurious claim on another forum that another manufacturer had an EP sample ready and would be announcing it at TINGS ? Mindst you, it seems that poster has some sort of agenda against DJ.....
  3. Appreciating it's slightly off topic (like many of the other posts on this thread !) - but a question for DJ Dave as to whether he will be at TINGS this year ?
  4. Thanks Karhedron - I had actually bookmarked that very page without realising it ! I got the feeling that the magnets you used were 3mm diameter and 2mm deep ? I wondered if longer but thinner magnets would work as well ? Been "playing" with the Dapol magnets in a piece of test track - so far the uncoupling seems a doddle, but I haven't mastered the delayed uncoupling yet - despite reading the instructions from Dapol, the knuckles seem to spring back together once the couplings clear the magnet. I'm thinking more on the lines of magnets in each siding, rather than my first plan of a magnet at the entrance to the "fan" of sidings. I've acquired an N gauge layout which is based on Calne (Wiltshire) and is now being "revamped".
  5. I've been poring through this thread with great interest, as I picked up a few packs of the "easi-shunt" couplings a while ago but never had the courage (or a proper layout !) to use them. The Dapol magnets DO look rather large for N gauge and I can see that hiding them may well be problematic. Would the cylindrical "rare earth" magnets - say of 2mm diameter and length 3mm, positioned vertically into the baseboard between sleepers at 1 o'clock and 7 o'clock position, do the trick ? Easier to disguise, I would guess ......
  6. Nowt wrong wi' Yorkshire coal, lad ! (Apart from the fact that there IS none, maybe)
  7. Poor old Clayton seems almost as doomed as its full size version ! Was SO looking forward to my green pair. .............
  8. Starting this month (February 2018), Bridlington Model Railway Society will be re-locating to new premises above the "Ocean Hand Car Wash" at 248 Quay Road, Bridlington, YO16 4JG. Parking is usually available on nearby streets, although "on-site" parking is not currently available. The move to the new clubroom will be spread over a period of several weeks so as to allow us to "set up"each of the club layouts properly and at the same time to "trim down" any surplus stock etc. Our new premises are somewhat larger, lighter, better insulated and certainly more comfortable than our current arch premises, so we are hopeful that this move will be the start of a whole new era for Bridlington's oldest model railway society, now in its 36th year. For more details, please viit the BMRS website at www,bridrailmodellers.com or visit our Facebook page
  9. As one of the 50, then I'm looking forward to later in the year. Good luck with this, DJ !
  10. Looking through photos both historical and of the one preserved example D8568, I agree. Although I wonder about the lighter green - it's almost Sherwood Green but may be a shade lighter ? Trouble is that photo quality (and light quality for that matter ?) varies so much. Is it DTG that owns D8568 ?
  11. Here's another potential buyer for a trainload of them in N gauge ! Looking forward to seeing how this goes - best of luck.
