  1. Note left on fridge.......

    My Dear wife

You will surely understand that I have certain needs that you, being 54, can no longer satisfy.

I am very happy with you and I value you as a good wife. Therefore, after reading this letter, I hope that you will not wrongly interpret the fact that I will be spending the evening at the Comfort Inn Hotel with Chantelle, my 18 year old secretary

Please don't be upset, I shall be home before midnight.

When man returns home he find the following letter on the kitchen table

    My Dear husband

I received your letter and thank you for your honesty about my being 54 years old.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that you are also 54.

As you know, I am a mathematics teacher at our local college.

I would like to inform you that while you read this, I will be at Hotel Fiesta with Michael, one of my students and assistant rugby coach.

He is young, virile and like your secretary also 18.

As a successful business man with a mathematical brain you will understand that we are in the same situation, with one small difference

18 goes into 54 a lot more times than 54 goes into 18!

Therefore I won't be home until sometime tomorrow.

  2. I have seen the photos on Fikr! Wondered if there were production plans ?

It would be nice as it would add some variety in colour schemes to the range, other ones for Hatton's to consider would be D9521 in Rail freight, D9523 in maroon and D9539 in all over brunswick green and there's a suggestion that D9500 may get painted in all over British Railways black.
  3. Are there any plans for a version of preserved D9537 in desert sand livery.....?

All ready done, well 1 anyway. At the recent 14s@50 event at the ELR Hatton's had a stand there selling class 14s and had a specially done D9537 in desert sand to win in a raffle prize. There was only 1 done so someone out there has a unique model and unfortunately it isn't me.
  4. Anyone know if the class 14 ever ran onto the southern on transfer freights from Acton. I haven't been able to find any

evidence but you lot on here certainly know your stuff it would be the best place to ask.

    much obliged

Modern Locomotives Illustrated issue 186 The class 14s - 17s has a pic of D9521 at Acton Main Line on 28/11/64 working a Paddington goods to Acton yard trip working, hope that helps you out.
  5. Yes poor old 6319, what a loss! Still, we wouldn't have 821 'Greyhound' had it not happened. As far as I'm aware the call to scrap 6319 was sent through from Derby, if the right person had intercepted it at Swindon things might have turned out rather differently.

However all may not be lost, joining the current new build planned locos is Project 22 an Facebook based group ( so far) with hopes of building a brand new class 22, what will come of it only time will tell, I do hope it works out though.
  6. Thanks to the apauling Christmas television and a few days off work it gave me time to get the ABS brake van finished off.

Next up to get finished off is this Easy Build mk1 BG, it was completed up to this stage over a year ago but following purchasing my first house it was packed away awaiting finishing.

In the meantime these various extra detailing parts have been acquired, one day I hope my soldering skills will do justice to attempt a full MMP kit, until then their excellent detail parts will do me nicely.

  7. While the CCT body is getting painted and the underframe a few extra details I've managed to catch up on this project a ABS Models brake van, still a bit to do yet but a very nice kit to build all helped by superb quality white metal castings though I have replaced the running boards with scratch built brass replacements.

  8. Hi Tim!

Iooking forward to seeing your CCT van pics as the ones you have posted so far are proving invaluable to me building mine, I certainly echo the comments of others about the quality of this kit, the instructions are near useless and ive had to replace numerous parts and do considerable cleaning up on other castings to make them acceptable, rant over and keep up the good work.
