A bit of work shouldgive me a reasonable representation of the Smiths arms Hotel at Aberbargoed.

Could add of extra windows upstairs and block out a couple of doors on the ground floor.

Exactly why I suggested it,o gauge would be very useful aswell.

I know there a minefield of variants but a class 04 would be good,plenty of livery options,BR and industrial so would appeal to a lot of modellers,and to me Dapol do seem good at the small locos.

The kit I am building is the Connoisseur Models one in 7mm scale. It is a very nice kit indeed and I have hardly had to alter anything to make things fit together, although I chose to upgrade a couple of items, like the brake pull rods. It does include quite a lot of alternative parts, including some for industrial versions.

I attach a couple of snaps, posed on the Colin Marsden book that has a nice photo of 11111, with no skirts. I my have to drill some holes along the edge of the footplate to represent the fixings for the skirts.

 

That's looking very impressive,I got one at the recent NEOG show to be 11103 in black.

Yep that's how we know them,got to be one of the worst (car) engines made,more so considering it replaced the Zetec which are next to no bother. Interesting to note that the later Ecobooms are chain driven but the oil pump is still belt driven.

Another vote for the Jamie Goodman sound file,IMO it captures the Western sound perfectly, the Legoman was a big disappointment.
