  1. This film opens watching the station pilot 08 Shunter in the Main Station making its way into the North Bay. Standard Tank 80135 slowly leaves the station with a short parcels train. The 08 picks up a parcels van and awaiting suburban stock from the run round road and ushers them into the platform road. Firth of Tay eases an express passenger train into Platform 3. Standard Class 5MT 73082 emerges from the tunnel with two parcels vans and delivers them to the North Bay centre road.
  2. All the action in this film takes place around the South Bay platforms on the Main Station at Trenholme junction. A two car Diesel Multiple arrives in the passenger platform. Standard Class 4MT Tank 80061 eases forward onto empty stock from a recent arrival and removes the coaches from the station. Another Standard Class 4MT Tank 80097 leaves from the bay run round road followed by the arrival of a Black 5 44668 with parcels stock and then leaves to head south. A Class 47 drifts through the main platform road with a through passenger train. D8158 Class 20 with tankers passes through the parcels platform and into the tunnel. 5601 Tank follows, slowly passing through the same platform with a short goods train and follows the tankers through the tunnel. Finally, D1 Scaffell Pike hurries through light engine.
  3. Its another bright and sunny day at Trenholme Junction and the Class 08 Shunter is on Station Pilot duties, taking a pair of parcels vans from the storage road at the North Bay of Main Station and placing them in the platform for loading. The remainder of the parcels arrives shortly afterwards behind a Class 25 locomotive and couples up to the pair, ready for departure.
  4. Under threatening cloudy skies, a Black 5 gently reverses onto its awaiting coaches at the Upper East Station whilst a Class 24 trundles by with a short mixed goods train. After a short pause, the Black 5 sets off and rounds the curve at the North Station and on to destinations unknown.
  5. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. In this cold mid-winter time this presentation harks back to summer days and watching the trains back in 1963.
  6. The Station Pilot Shunter gently eases a rake of ex-LNER Thompson coaches out of the south carriage sidings and into platform 5 of the Main Station in readiness for the mainline locomotive.
  7. Under threatening skies, a Black 5 crosses from the Trenholme Junction South Tunnel line and over the goods lines to take its train of vans through Main Station platform 2 and onward north.
  8. A Class 20 hauls a mixed goods transfer freight from the Upper Marshalling Yard en route for the Lower Marshalling Yard where the train is uncoupled in the reception/dispatch road. In the meantime, a two car Diesel Multiple Unit arrives from the south and pauses at the Lower East Station, whilst the locomotive and brake van head off and leave by the southern end of Trenholme Junction. Finally, the passenger service heads north towards Main station. When joining two videos together (the model and the background in this case), getting a clean join is quite difficult to achieve to make it convincing. This video is a practice, using a different technique from previous attempts. I think this works quite well, especially around bushes and trees.
  9. 80135 Standard 4MT Tank Locomotive gently pulls away from the the loco spur at the southern end of the north bay on Main Station and up to the loop end at the north end before backing onto the parcels vans waiting in the station road.

  11. D5270 Class 25 is travelling from the north of Trenholme Junction to the south via the station avoidance road with its train of new motor vehicles. Storming through in the same direction through Main Station is Peak D1 with a passenger train. Two views through South Signal Box door.
  12. A Black 5 with its bulk grain train emerges from the north tunnel at Trenholme Junction, passing the Diesel Motive Power Depot and eases onto the avoidance road at the Main Station. Whilst the Black 5 awaits the road to proceed, the 08 Shunter moves forward, also awaiting a road. A Hymek with a train of bogie well wagons gently rolls past and off to the south of the junction on the down goods line. The Black 5 than moves off, again, to the south of the junction. The passing of both of these trains is seen through the open door of the signal box.
  13. Hauling a train of tanker wagons Class 31 D5512 descends the long incline to the south end of Trenholme Junction, passing the south carriage sidings and then passes a Black 5 on a long empty mineral train movement at the south signal box at the Main Station. The train then rounds the north curve of the junction and arrives at journeys end in the reception / departure road of the Lower Marshalling Yard.
  14. In this film a DMU arrives at the Main Station south bay followed by 5601 Class 56xx Tank engine with two CCT vans into the parcels platform. Once the DMU has cleared the station, The tank engine runs around its short train in order to return from the direction it arrived from.
  15. Black 5 45455 heads a long empty train of mineral wagons from north to south through Trenholme Junction. The train first passes the north carriage sidings and the Main Station engine shed and then watched on its journey from inside the Main Station south signal box and onto a destination unknown.
  16. A short journey from the Main Station to the Lower East Station standing looking over the drivers' shoulder. The video is made using a mask from a photograph from the inside of a class 101 Diesel Multiple Unit over the video recorded on the model railway. The background of the model has been keyed out and and a video of a cloudy sky forms the view from the windscreen. Filmed in 4k with a Gopro Session 5 camera and produced in Magix Vegas 16 Pro software using Vegas Bezier Masking, Vegas Masking, NewBlueFX Chroma Key Pro. A tricky composite, not so easy key a camera when its moving ..... The photograph by kind permission of barry13092 of Flickr fame.
  17. This is another single part film from a series which is exploiting the 'Infinite Layout' principle where films can made and remade using different scenes (some of which may be not physically joined together). All the films are hybrids, using a mixture of previously used scenes, unused scenes from the original filming and new scenes shot recently. Some scenes have been re-edited from their original production version, which was in letterbox format, to full screen. All the original and new scenes have a real sky video as a background. For more information about the 'Infinite Layout' see the links in video notes (on YouTube). In this film a Class 20 passes through the Main Station Parcels platform with an empty tanker train, followed by ex GWR tank engine hauling a short mixed goods local train.

Some scenes have been re-edited from their original production version, which was in letterbox format, to full screen. All the original and new scenes have a real sky video as a background. For more information about the 'Infinite Layout' see the links in video notes (on YouTube). The Class 31 Diesel D5512 and its passenger train starts from the Lower East Station, passes the diesel MPD , runs non-stop through Main Station and crosses the south junction up to the long gradient
  20. This is the third part of a film from a series which is exploiting the 'Infinite Layout' principle where films can made and remade using different scenes (some of which may be not physically joined together). Following the addition of several vans to the train, the Standard Class 5 locomotive 73082 continues on it way past the Lower East Station and out of Trenholme Junction.

Class 24 D5100 is the Main station pilot on this day and emerges from the north tunnel and removes parcels vans from the north carriage sidings and places them onto those awaiting in the platform. Once in place, the Standard Class couples up to the train in preparation form departure.
  22. This film is part of an ongoing series which is exploiting the 'Infinite Layout' principle where films can made and remade using different scenes (some of which may be not physically joined together). This film is part of an ongoing series which is exploiting the 'Infinite Layout' principle where the films can made and remade using different scenes (some which are not physically joined together). For more information see the links in video notes (on YouTube). A Hymek approaches the Main Station from the tunnel at the south end of the junction and pauses in the station avoidance road to allow a suburban passenger train to enter the station. The Hymek than sets off to the north end of the junction and comes to a halt in the reception departure road of the Main Marshalling Yard. 24. A Black 5 storms through Trenholme Junction with a fitted van train, don't blink or you'll miss it........
  25. A class 47 with the breakdown train emerges from the tunnel at the north end of Trenholme Junction and heads through the Main Station against the platform face on the western side. Another class 47 awaits the station avoidance road with an extensive train of 21 ton hoppers. During these, the summer months, this is a remake of a scene from an earlier video which was produced in letterbox format in order to eliminate the lights and ceiling in the train shed. In this version, the walls and ceiling has been replaced by using a video editor and special effects to merge a video of real sky with the original video of the model and uses the full size frame.
