I've got an ouch on my arm where I was stjabbed yesterday . . . . feels like a bad bruise but nowt to see . . . and feeling a bit . . . vague?
Build your own guitar kits:- My mate has bought and built two . . .
The strat kit was about £55, but he used a set of Mexican strat pick-ups I had lying about . . .
Nice neck, nice hardware, body seems to be Balsa or similar. . . Very light and easily bruised.
Plays very nicely, thank you. . .
The Tele kit was £58, and he built it straight from the box. . . . Nice neck . . nice hardware . . body not too light . . . .
Turned into his favourite guitar.
For the strat body he used spray paint . . . . . it was so porous that it seemed to suck the paint from the can . . . . not a good finish . . . possible rebuild.
The Tele body was treated to 4 coats of beeswax . . and a lot of polishing . . . . very understated finish, but . . . .
a really nice guitar . . . and nowt wrong with the standard pick-ups. . . .In fact, made him think if the kit pick-ups for the strat might be as good (hence possible rebuild).
The SG and Las Paul bodies are usually made of mahogany, or something equally dense, to enhance the sustain . . . .
Trouble is, as you get older, that's a lot of weight hanging from your shoulder.
Been cold and draughty all day with showers . . .6c tops.
