  1. Happy Easter Guys --- have a great weekend!

  2. HappY EASTER

  3. As a volunteer at Arley it was a real treat to have both yourself and the models during our very successful Spring Gala....please guys if you get a chance to go and see this superb model and say 'Hello' to Will....Cheers Bob (Arley Station)
  4. Cheers Grovenor There was a plan thread on here I believe was called 'Signalling Park Street', which was very similar in its use of single and double slips.....I am lead to believe that many railway companies and the powers that be...disliked their implementation.....I am not 'techno savie' about these matters and whilst every bit of information from the kind guys on here is very much appreciated and taken onboard sometimes I get a bt confused and disheartened to carry on with the existing layout.....it is the track plan of Penzance and Birmingham Moor Street that makes me think I will follow it through....however I am always open and appreciative of comments and guidance...Regards Bob
  5. I have taken inspiration for utilising single slips mainly from Penzance and Birmingham Moor Street or am I incorrect? Cheers Guys,,,, Bob
  6. Cheers for the sound advice..beginning to think whether this plan is worth following through, is it the inclusion of all the single and double slips that gives concern, I understand they were not favoured in operational terms but were used? Will get back to you kind guys...Regards Bob
  7. Cheers for the sound, sensible advice here Kenton.....will take everything here onboard with the sincerity that it conveys...any help is much appreciated....Regards Bob
  8. Hello....With all the kimd advice within the messages taken onboard, I am considering removing the bi-directional aspects of the main lines into platforms 1 + 2, also....also removing the slips to 3 + 4 just simple turnout and to access the relief, which may uncomplicate matters somewhat hopefully,,,,the warehouse is also under conversion to just a goods yard....moved on to the two lower lines....with sidings now above? Regards...enjoy tomorrows eclipse if you see it... Bob
  9. Hell Kenton....Thanks for everything here much appreciated....just to say that the relief / goods will link up with both mains further along to layout, which is basically a set of three individual scenes all linked together.... Cheers Bob
  10. Cheers for the info, will read and re-read all the info whisch is greatly appreciated...I am so grateful for anything which is said on here....Regards Bob
  11. Cheers Chris....much appreciated.....will take onboard and digest,,, will try to have a think and simplify.....Regards Bob

  14. Cheers everyone....all the input is much appreciated.....any suggestions as how one could smooth the operation if it looks too complicated track work..? Regards to all Bob
  15. Hello Chimer...Thanks for the reply.....there would only be me so no it is not likely to be complicated at all, just one or two controllers planned, one for the station activity and possibly one for the goods yard, one if I could get away with it? Regards Bob
  16. Hello RFS....Sorry should have stated that at the outset, insulfrog and analogue DC..... just the station at the moment but to be extended out later....Cheers Bob
  17. Hello guys....I have basically settled on the plan here....and now considering where the main feeds, isolating breaks and sections need to be situated....I am looking through various publications etc, but would appreciate and seek any advice as to where you guys would place these on the plan.....a bit of an electrical 'plonker'...I will get there but any tips would be great!
  18. Saw a Nanking Blue (secondhand) for under £400 in a local model shop just this weekend.....
  19. Ahhhh...Brilliant information thanks...you see as a lad of 5, my memories have been 'tainted' over time by an assumption and lack of knowledge....much appreciate the reply...Cheers Bob
  20. Hello Ian...Thanks for the message.....I was only 5 at the time (actually was it was my 5th Birthday in late May on the day of travel, that day is burnt into my memories as it was a turning point in my life) when we left Paddington after docking that morning in Tilbury after a five week sailing on the P & O Himalaya, having been met by family they purchased tickets for a trip on the way back down to Birmingham....sorry for my ignornace on the subject but which Pullman would have operated the service we would have travelled on....I recall that huge blue train standing in Paddington taking us northward, perhaps my memories of that trip have been clouded over time and my knowledge of operational traction is not that great for sure....were some of the Midland Pullman's transferred over to Western Region after a stint on the St. Pancras to Manchester run? Cheers for the information...Kind regards Bob
  21. Cheers guys...all the information taken onboard and much appreciated....Bob
