Beautiful model and, I think, the first time I've seen 'Montrose' in early BR blue
-
Good sense of distance in this last photo.
-
You've obviously given it plenty of thought. Go for it Mr. EdwardNo2, sir.
-
A very comprehensive list here. I trust you knew exactly what you wanted and also knew exactly from whom to source. Or did you simply have great fun looking around?!
-
"The case will resume shortly". Or, as Ringo used to say on my children's cassette tape, "When you hear Thomas whistle - 'peep, peep!' - turn the page..."
-
Yes, although I'm not sure what colour I would paint a fascia, I'm inclined to agree with what you say about black. I think the fascia will probably melt into the background even more as the layout develops. Those craggy hills look great.

I'll look out for you, maybe sometime Saturday afternoon. Cat to vet first at Churchdown and working visit to Cirencester in the morning. Maybe fit a trip to the exhibition after that and before a possible visit to Gloucester Royal Hospital in the afternoon. It's a nice small exhibition they put on, friendly folk who organise it, and usually for a good cause.

It does 'add to the mass of the thing' though doesn't it, to coin a phrase. Nice. I'll be brave with my stock one day.
-
I also succumbed, CK - I mean, it would have been rude not to.
And of course we'd have all missed out on such a lovely picture if you hadn't, so Sir, you are a gent.
-
Oodles of railway character everywhere as ever, Ray. Lovely pictures too.
-
Very nice indeed. I can understand how much you like it, particularly in the setting of your fine layout. There's something similar in my local Antics, different type of 0-6-0 but a similar finish. 'I don't want it', I tell myself, but I keep looking...

I let out an audible sigh (of wonder) when I saw that first picture; so lifelike. And the sense of spaciousness in the second picture - lovely, just lovely.
-
My jaw is dragging along the floor yet again at the atmosphere you seem to create in every building.
-
The whole scene looks lovely.
-
Very informative and very succinct, we're shown the construction of much of the layout and how it came together in just a few pictures. Good work!
-
The vertical storage 'cassette' system is something I've pondered for a while. Great to see one in situ. Real sense of space in this layout.
-
Excellent modelling and now some excellent advice. Thanks as ever, Job. Our thoughts too with you and your family at this time of loss.
-
The first photo in particular in this lower set shows the bricks at what might be a usual viewing distance and the effect seems plenty acceptable to me. Thanks too for the helpful information in your text, it'll help us know what to expect when others of us come to try it.
-
There now, Andy, binny enjoyed it and I'm sure it was all well appreciated by all who saw your efforts come to fruition. You can let your fears subside for a while; then again maybe it'll be all the pyjamas and dressing gown pics circulating the school that you may need to fret over next...
-
Time's tight but it gets you moving! The third picture shows that you've captured something of the atmosphere of a small station. I'm sure it'll all be appreciated on the day.
-
Nice legs, Julie, but that black skirt does seem incredibly short...
-
'What she said was - "why don't you buy it for the garden?".' Has she got some other railway (read 'gardening') jobs secretly lined up for you? Beware, Andy!
You might also get loads of enquiries now along the lines of, "Has your wife got any sisters"!
-
A very useful 'check list' of where to go and what to see - Bradshaw 2013 (condensed)!
-
Barry, I was impressed with the Western in the first picture and mightily impressed by the overall scene in the second. Some very nice modelling, I say.

I was sort of convinced by your actions with the dilute white in the first photo and more so seeing the second photo. Thanks for the tip about adding red to the green when colouring the trees. I've also had a peep at the ceynix website too via your link - very interesting.
