Well they say every cloud has a silver lining and in this case it's at least I know where all the panniers are.
But are you sure there are only six Panniers and when the Prairies come out to join them you will be well and truly 3F'ed and in an 'ell of a mess. 😇

Neither are Panniers.
At least Pannier is more polite than 3F's!

I'm in two mines about this photo. Firstly it is good that there are no prairies to be seen, but then one begins to wonder where are they and more importantly what are they up to.
Planning meeting with the panniers!

I'm a bit worried there's an implied joke there ... about turning your wife on .. but we don't want to upset the Mods do we?
Well I didn't even think of that joke so we will just have to blame someone's dirty mind!

And people say modern TV is rubbish.....
At least then there was the choice of two channels or the off button. Now we have goodness knows how many channels and my wife doesn't seem to know there is an off button!

Spent a very enjoyable Saturday at the Steam Gala. Below are a few of the photos I grabbed during the day. Sadly my one shot of Lady of Legend was blurry.
Pitchford Hall at North Weald.
Leander at Ongar.
L150 at Ongar.

WARNING TO SENSITIVE VIEWERS:
LITTLE MUDDLE IS SET IN THE LATE 1930s AND CONTAINS SCENES WHICH REPRESENT THE ATTITUDES AND LOCOMOTIVES OF THE PERIOD WHICH SOME VIEWERS MAY FIND OFFENSIVE.
Following Mr Wolf's advise the next picture may cause unnecessary concern for those of a nervous disposition....
6 Panniers at large in the wild....
Only six Panniers! I think you need to order some more, a bakers dozen would be a reasonable starting point. 😁

I went to the second day of the Mid Hants Steam Gala today catching the 0722 from Wimbledon and got a nice surprise when I got to travel as far as Surbiton in this unit!
Picture taken at Surbiton. Sadly I could not get the front of the unit due to the platform barrier.

Fitting CDL is fine but how are the those who don't understand a Mk1 going to open the doors?
On most preserved lines the station and on train staff check all along the train for anyone trying to get on or off and having problems with opening the doors.

I spent 20 years as a Travelling Ticket Inspector and 17 as a Guard on the Mid Hants Railway. During that time the number of people who could not open or close the doors on the carriages was amazing. On at least half my duties I met people who were pushing the rubber door stops in an attempt to open a door! On one occasion I was asked by a teacher, who was leading a school party, to close the windows and turn the air conditioning on as it was too hot. She was most upset with me when I explained that having the windows open was the only air conditioning that Mk 1 carriages have.
I have travelled widely on other preserved lines and witnessed the same behaviour at most of them. The public do not understand Mk 1 doors and unless the staff watch them carefully they can cause a dangerous situation at any time on a journey.

I think this could all end in tears. The panniers loves verses the rest just don’t want blood on the layout.
Panniers will win with no blood anywhere. Just a lot of Jinty's sulking as they rust away.

I have teeth and claws that I will use to explain why I should not move if you don't understand the look you are getting.

Does that mean we'll be able to 'revell' in even more photos of panniers. Oh dear.
The more panniers, the better.

C6101. Superpower for just six wagons, perhaps 150 tons.
But very modellable,
Jonathan
I think you may need to count them again! I make it seven tankers.

Those two coaches look great. I just hope they have central door locking or there could be problems ahead!

Whilst on the subject of roofs I’ve also tried something a little different
modelling in preservation limits giving something a good weathering job. For the time frame I came across on YouTube a coach the railway used at the 2011 spring gala which they painted to be a support coach to the crane. Having too many brake coaches left over and one in the Bachmann dark green livery I decided to recreate this coach
all windows are basically filled in and the roof is looking tired.
Nice to sometimes have something on the layout that doesn’t look perfect and adds a bit of character.
I was guard on one of that coaches trips along the line with the crane. It was a fairly rough ride and the inside of the coach made the outside appear brand new! I don't think any of the windows were plated over, just painted.

God heavens fly tipping on Little Muddle. I wouldn't stand for that if I were you. You'll have to clamp down hard on this. Next thing you know there will be umbrellas being left and.......
crates not being emptied!

I am sure J3189 is correctly captioned, but amusing that not a point in sight.

If you look very carefully you will spot part of a point in the top left hand corner of the photo.
I had to look three times before my eyes and brain spotted it.

Not sure I believe in coincidence. I think the panniers are planning something and are up to no good.
