First one in service today, 70011 is on a Rugeley.
So I beleive........my pal rang me to see if I fancied running over the 12 miles to Rugeley PS to see it. I told him I'm not that desparate.
So, did it actually make it then.???

My source has told me that 70009 has seized, and is now on a wheel skate....???

Unconfirmed reports that there is a bent 70 on a low-loader at Newport Docks earlier today........
Have they dropped another one?
Cheers,
Mick
Apparently those reports are now confirmed....it has left Newport docks on a low loader.
Unconfirmed reports are that it is on its way to either LNWR or MR for component recovery..????

They are trying to keep them away from any major mainline due to thier current failure rates. It seems most of their outings now they are accompanied by a 66 just in case.
And 4 fire engines.!!!!!!!!!!

On Thursday evening this week, I was returning from Cardiff to Crewe, arriving about 9.15pm, when lineside at Gresty Road, just before the DRS depot on the opposite side, there was a class 70 loco in the sidings, being attended to by 4 fire engines. There didnt seem to be a fire, whatever the emergency, it did seem to have been towards the end of it.
Anyone any news.????

Flippin Eck Gordon........I don't know whether I get more motivated or demoralised when I look at your latest achievements, how am I ever expected to get this level. Kidding apart though.....that is just brilliant Gordon, cant wait to see it in the flesh maybe later this year.

I was forwarded this email by someone in the know.........is this right.?????
Network Rail are totally p....d off with the class70's constantly failing on the mainline and causing 1000's of minutes of delay so as of yesterday afternoon banned them from "Marches" (Newport-Shrewsbury) and other bits of railway until they can get them running correctly!
Hence a pair are assigned the Avonmouth-Rugeley tomorrow just in case one fails!!!

I think I know where you mean....thats just down from those fishing pools.
No....I dont fish.!!!! But there used to be a Butty Van parked up there a few years back, when out on business I used to drop in occasionally for a whopping bacon and egg butty. :icon_redface:
That was about 10 yrs ago now.........long gone I suspect.
No more snow now though eh.??

Hi Dave
I saw my first at Rugeley Town a month or so back, and like you, it arrived a bit early, I missed it going in by 5 mins, then had to wait there nearly two hours for it to come back out.

Well...????
Did it turn up then.???

I must be one of the few who actually likes the design of these. Yes, you can call me mad.
Sam
Hi Sam.....I was one of those who hated the look of them..............but having seen a few now, my view is definitley changing, they are growing me.

Hi Gordon....out of this world mate....totally absorbing, and Martins input too, its just so interesting.
looking forward to the next instalment.
Tried the embossed walling with one piece I bought for trial purposes. Took about six attempts before I had something acceptable.....not totally happy with my efforts as yet....but looking ok. Will do some further tests to see if I can improve when I get a minute.

You have some opposing routes set - I would knock the ground signals to danger as, to my eye, it ruins the effect when the ground signal is clear for a shunt move and the main arm is off with a train departing.
The LRM signal box is a good choice (but then I would say that !) - the old signal box on Widnes is one of those.
(Sorry, I missed this reply !)
Can you actually get working dollys.? No...Not blow up ones.!!!
I havent seen any working ones on any layouts.

I'm told that all 6 are now laid up with ongoing faults/problems....is that right.??
Certainly 3 were idle at Basford Hall on Tuesday this week, Nos...3, 5 and 6. I saw them.

My Pal finally got round to trying some Code 75 rail joiners which work well.
Gordon.......another question on your walls......what did you do for the top of the walls(capping), and also the top of the pillars.
Bob.

Beluga Endurance not on its way back to Newport as yet.......its left Ghent on its way to Rostok in NE Germany.
So we are stuck with 70012 for a while yet.
