  1. I have no idea to tell you the truth. They are just green 1mm wood chip scatter that I have in a Doritos jar. I have drybrushed them with various greens and yellows for tonal variation. So I don't think the base colour matters really.
  2. Seeing as you mention it... Allan, remember when I photoshopped your mill scene and you told me about mixing pva with green leaves? Here is my effort to recreate ivy on my terraced house. Been waiting for a cast to dry and thought I would have a go! First thing about this model I have really liked so thanks for the tip! Pete
  3. After careful consideration I decided to do a thatched roof in honour of Allan. Took a while, but;
  4. I quote directly from a thread of my own: "Don't give up just yet mate, it happens to us all, just persevere. Cheers. Allan." Come on Allan finish it!
  5. Amazing transformation Allan. Nice to see you doing something I haven't seen before. Can't wait to see the end result! Pete
  6. Gok wan. The entire cast of "the only way is Essex" Graham Norton Dominic littlewood Russell brand
  7. Yeah they are great! I would like to think if I took up card modelling I could try this sort of thing. I love the overall effect that the level of detail you have put in has on the atmosphere.

  9. Hey gravy train that's an awesome build! 58 herbie do you have a thread for this turntable? Would love to see how it was made? Pete
  10. Have you tried weathering powders? I use them on most of my buildings and they make a huge difference if ised sparingly
  11. Some weathering would be lovely, would set it off just right. Where do you get the windows from?
  12. Thanks freebs. Maybe. No idea if they will sell well or not, nor how much they would sell for as "ready to display" Any thoughts from you guys would be welcome. Pete
  13. Been working for months on getting this and other houses cast in plaster and painted correctly so they can be replicated. Now I'm almost there, with the windows being created by laser cutting somewhere in London. Completely scratchbuilt. Pete
  14. Glad you said it was yours highlandman - I wouldn't want to be arrested for counterfeit!
  15. Hubble looked out into deep space and saw the cosmic radiation background from 16 billion years ago - the oldest part of the universe. They also saw the beginning of this thread!
  16. one of my flying visits once again proves to me that: 1. Allan is still churning out some awesome models 2. This thread is delving new depths in content. Have you all been eating fire cement and PVA?!
  17. Hey branwell, I have found that wet and dry paper has the most perfect texture for tiles. The back of it is literally a paper and can be marked with pencil and cut with a sharp blade. A fine 1200 would be great for 2mm! Here is one I made in 4mm with 600 wet and dry: Pete
  18. Sorry it was my predictive text iphone! I should pay more attention.
