  1. Had any more luck Mike? You should have been admitted to the 'Waiting Room' first and then admitted from there. If you miss any of the Lectures, they will be posted to the 'EM Gauge Society' (note the name) YouTube channel in due course.
  2. I hope that Kier has been admitted by now. Thanks for giving details of the link Tony. I had an EMGS member phone me with the same query. The easiest way is to go in from the EMGS main page and follow the links from there.
  3. The Virtual expoEM starts in 90 minutes time but you can join the Lectures by logging on to Zoom soon after 10.00am. There are a limited number of places available. Here's the Zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/99916764373?pwd=eW1qSURnVGwwY2FZd2NBNzV5ajR6QT0 Meeting ID: 999 1676 4373 Passcode: 542094 This is also being shown on the virtual show page. We hope you find the expo enjoyable whether or not your interests are in EM and P4.
  4. Have a good game Barry. Fear not, all the content will be available to view on the EM Gauge Society YouTube channel. Don't tell anybody, but most is already on there now!
  5. Haing been privileged to have had a preview, I would say that The Laird has surpassed himself; all you want and need to know about LCN. It was filmed prior to the rebuilding of the Leeds City West throat so it's historical already! Put your feet up for an hour and enjoy! It'll also be going up on the EM Gauge Society YouTube channel to be enjoyed after the event takes place.
  6. Joining instructions for the live lectures tomorrow during the 'Virtual expoEM Spring 2021' are on the EMGS website (www.emgs.org). Here's a bit more information from Tim Easter. "During these lectures all attendees, other than the host and speaker, will be automatically muted. There will be an opportunity to ask any questions during the Q&A after each lecture. Please use the "chat" facility within Zoom and send a message to the participant named "EMGS Virtual Host", so that our host can then be ready to unmute you when the Q&A starts."
  7. The EMGS has decided to follow the usual practice at expoEMs regarding non-members being able to purchase items from the EMGS stores. This will mean that all visitors to the Virtual expo will be assumed to have Day Membership of the Society and therefore will be able do so on the day.
  8. Have a look at the 'Virtual expoEM Spring' next Saturday.
  9. Well that was a long time ago! And the MRJ show at Westminster Hall was in 1990 or thereabouts. Expos and Scaleforums offer just what you appear to be on the look-out for, namely plenty of specialist small traders. Railex isn't half bad either. I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet.
  10. It will all be on the EM Gauge Society YouTube channel afterwards. There will be a handful of additions to make to the line-up tomorrow.
  11. Post #1 has been edited (once again) to take into account the latest additions to line-up for the 'Virtual expoEM'. I hope that this may constitute the finished article.
  12. Tony, because of the size of the file, I'll email you the article, or use WeTransfer. Here's one photo from the article which was published in the Winter 2003 edition of the L&YRS Magazine (Number 220).
  13. ...tomorrow if time permits. I have a Virtual expoEM to get ready to go online in less than a fortnight!
  14. As far as I'm aware, only the Magazine of the L&YRS. I can look up the back issue if you wish and post a scan.
  15. I know of a an O gauge modal of Springwood Junction modelled by Paul Knight, a member of the L&Y Railway Society.
  16. Post #1 has been revised to incorporate the additins to the line-up that have been made over the last few weeks.
  17. With the launch of the new website (www.emgs.org), we now have the opportunity to offer an online facility to become a member of the EMGS, plus we're offering free postage at the EMGS stores at during the 'Virtual expoEM Spring' event in three weeks time.
  18. You're correct Tony, John E told me that the ability to have simultaneous arrivals and departures lies behind the changes to the LCW station throat. I just feel sorry for the fiddle yard operators at LCW and (especially) the South Fiddle Yard!
  19. As you're looking at the photo of the new Leeds City West junction, the lines proceeding straight ahead are the DMU, loco and carriage stabling fiddle yard sidings. The double track curving round to the right leads to Leeds City Junction and then on to the 'Viaduct Line' or 'Farnley Viaduct'. On the model this is represented by three roads in the South Fiddle Yard. When you watch The Laird's excellent video, to which I've been privileged to having had a preview, all should be clearer. LCN is featured as part of the EMGS 'Virtual expoEM Spring' on May 22nd. See www.emgs.org for more details.
  20. Plus, we have about five more, including 42072, 42093 & 42139. I think The Laird has a couple more and he now got access to all the Manningham allocated Fairburn tanks for use on LCN. We also will have a couple of big Fowler limousine cab tanks and a solitary Stanier 2-6-4T.
  21. As far as I can see, Down trains require to use that turnout to access the outermost fiddle yard road, in other words the one to the rear of the boards, in order that both Up and Down trains can access and depart from all three roads.
