  1. Not much left to do now,had an airbrush session this morning. Just a final top coat around the decals to blend them in and then I can start putting it back together.
  2. More progress, starting to come alive now... Got a delivery of transfers today,so should they be affixed next week, then final weathering.
  3. Yep,bang on,and well noted on the headlights.I was going to model 214 in construction livery which had headlights, then changed my mind not realising 180 didn't have them until it was too late!! But hey ho...
  4. More progress today, making sure everything is where it needed to be.. I'm gathering place now, hoping to have the loco complete within a couple of weeks. The eagle eyed among us will probably have noticed which particular 37 this model is going to be.. Answers on a postcard..
  5. Little bit more progress today.. Buffer beams taking shape. Bachmann lineside worker adapted to drive, unfortunately he lost his legs in the process!
  6. Further progress has been made.. Only a couple of little things to sort on the body and to apply the black on the bonnets/windows. This one could be worth the wait!!
  7. Sooooo....it's been a long while since any modelling was done but the 37 now has its new livery 85% applied. Hopefully I'll have the loco completed in a couple of weeks, but it was supposed to be finished in Jan/Feb this year!
  8. HullCity I'm just gonna leave the windows as they are, maybe in the future I'll address them. Modelman
  9. Evening all. Well, with the paint drying on the 37 i,'ve spent a bit of time on one of my 20's. This is the well used Blue one which will pair up with the Red stripe one. Both Eastfield machines complete with Scottie dogs and miniature ploughs. They will end up numbered as 20083 and 20138. I bought this 20 a while ago which someone had already weathered,it just needs tidied up a little. I think it's taking shape nicely, but then I would say that! Modelman.
  10. All. Hopefully Heljan will keep attaching the locos to a piece of MDF in their packaging. This should stop them being damaged in transit. It's piss poor form considering what they cost. Modelman
  11. Evening. A bit more progress today, finally got the shell primed. It has highlighted a couple of imperfections which will be dealt with soon. Once the imperfections are sorted I can start applying the new livery.. Modelman.
  12. Sorry for slow reply....the cab interiors broke free with some gentle persuasion. They did have a good hold mind. Modelman
  13. Spent a couple of hours on the 37 today, progress is slow but I'm getting there. So,grilles are corrected, side access door and steps blanked and blanking plates attached next to nose grilles. Not far from a coat of primer now.
  14. Got my Railfreight 20 over weekend from C and M models, must say the wooden mounts are a reassuring addition to the packaging, especially after the smashed 60 I received before Christmas. Modelman
  15. So.... headlight sorted and other end being fettled... Hopefully I'll get the noses finished before Christmas, then new year and a new livery for the triple grey coal machine!!(unless I change me mind again) Modelman
  16. So,the class 60 is done and i've had some time to commence work on the 37. Progresses so far... Buffer beam cut away complete, headcode panel fitted, high intensity headlights fitted and window rubbers fitted.... I've fitted the headlight as supplied but i think it protrudes too far so that may need addressed. I need to decide which 37 I'm modeling as well as the front ends are massively different from loco to loco Modelman
  17. I recall seeing an image of a 60 with one cab covered in cement, and a propper good covering, must have been an open hopper as the loco passed under.Dosnt seem to matter what you do there will always be a real life example..Modelman
  18. Great WesternMight end up toning the body side down a bit, having said that when you start looking at images of the 60's there are some with a lot more grime than that. Yeah,I used the supplied transfers. Modelman.
  19. So much for keeping number 37 clean..... Got carried away with the air brush today.... bit too much around the clean air intake I think.. Modelman
  20. So......if I ordered another it would be a dud.......
  21. HullCityB17 The lenses simply pushed out, don't think they got damaged, but i wasn't too bothered as I have brass plates from PHD to replace them. I would suggest contacting PHD regarding the steps, they are available as I recently bought them along with an array of brass detailing parts. Modelman14
  22. Nice, excellent weathering,I went for the cleaner look, the 60's seemed to be kept presentable in the early years with only the roofs and underframes becoming grimy.....good stuff...
  23. Evening.. An update on the 60.... received a replacement on Monday, this time with the windscreen loose and an unattached airhorn...runs ok tho. Decided not to return it again and address the issues so while it was apart decided to treat it to some light weathering. Nameplates etc ordered from Shawplan to complete loco as 60037 Helvellyn. Because I spend time in the Hills I thought it apt to go with the hills theme so this loco complements my other 60 which is number 5 Skiddaw. So that's the 60 nearly completed, now to finish off the 37......there are other 60's with local Hill names..... Modelman
  24. Evening....... Not had a lot of time on the 37 lately, but I have managed to nearly finish the bogie frames... The brake pipes are not 100% correct, but I think they look OK.. I'll attend to the brake levers at a later date, but for now the frames are nearly ready to paint. Stephen.
  25. Thought I'd take advantage of Hattons reduced price and have another 60..... unfortunately it's going back... Very disappointing, even my last Heljan purchase,a class 37 had a bogie frame issue....these items should be perfect for the cost.....I sometimes wonder why I shell out my hard earned cash only to recieve faulty goods. However,I do like O gauge...
