  1. I suppose its only fair that as UK models creep closer to their foreign counterparts in quality so they should in price as well? Some people think nothing of paying ??150-200 for a loco by Roco or Fleischmann. Hell, the wee Roco Engerths in HOe can easily fetch over ??200 and thats narrow gauge! Besides, they will charge whatever the market will stand (??115 for a class 14 anyone?) I seriously doubt they would only do one small batch if they are such "Hot Cakes" it makes commercial sense to produce as many as people will want to buy. Didn't they flog Deltic to death with various editions? Including the twin packs they did. I for one am bloody impressed by their keeping a lid on it all though I am not at all surprised by the choice of loco. Also, The NRM has dealt with Bachmann before so it is only natural to do so again. Would love to see one in the flesh before I part with the pennies. It's going to be an expensive couple of months (A1,A2, Truro...)
  2. As I mentioned in the A2 thread, they wouldn't budge on a date but it was inferred it is a couple of months away so you won't see it til the new year at the earliest. Must be concentrating on punting Tornado to the christmas market first.
  3. I think it was inferred that it is still a couple of months away so you are looking at the new year at the earliest. It's all down to finding a production slot at the factory. Things like chinese new year etc don't help either.
  4. Not got a foty but I had a good look at it. It is very nice and I can feel it tugging at my wallet already. Spoke to a Bachmann guy and he assured me 2 weeks! S o they must be built and pretty much on their way already. I guess they want to hit the christmas market.
  5. Apparently Tornado is due out in a couple of weeks. Guess they are trying to get them out in time for Christmas. Also, what is the point of TMC producing Blue Peter for 160 squid when that is the loco Bachmann are producing?
  6. I noticed the comment on one of those photos: The coach is on loan to the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust for Tornado's mainline tours, while the Trust restores their own at their Darlington Works. The one they are restoring might be the same, dunno though?
  7. Is Blue Peter in As Preserved condition?
