Great work, the progress is excellent

Excellent choice. You can still see traces signs of the lines by Bumble Hole. I think that would be near the stations at WINDMILL END and DARBY END. The old cold mine buildings are still there along with some of the bridges.

Thanks very much. I am quite happy with the (as yet un-finished) terminus layout- it provides quite a few shunting/stock moves. I am totally re-doing the urban setting as I am not happy that it provides enough entertainment!

Looks great!
-
Good luck with the new version I had to pull mine apart four times!
-
Cheers! Still loads to do, got some more track arriving to finish the loops. Yeah I think the pilot got lost in 1953...somehow ended up landing on a hill!! I've got a 1964 Rolland gnat that might get suspended over the layout!

This looks great- looking forward to progress

Sorry- just seen your question... The back scene is ID Back scenes and and its great

Its very good

Forgot to mention I now have a Bachmann Class 105 DMU!!! Which needed two blanking plugs for the DCC, bit now runs amazingly well!
-
Cheers, thanks for the kind comments, the backgrounds are ID back scenes. I think a painted one does look excellent, but its difficult to do if your not great at painting (like me), When I get some more days off and when I can get a few spare hours I will wire up the turntable. From what I can see the Peco Turntable is very easy to wire as it has clips that reverse the polarity things..
Every week I edge the layout slowly further- then I remember theres a whole other side and the branch terminus bit to go!!! Still its running great and I can run 8 coach expresses into the main station
-
Good stuff- looks like your making excellent progress
-
Looks good
-
I have similar issues- I run an 8 coach rake of Bachmann BR Mk 1's and man they are heavy! I have added weight to alot of my older Bachmann locos- but the Hornby Paviland Grange has zero pulling power!
-
thanks very much
-
Love it!!!! Great work, very pleasing to the eye!

Looks great a layout to be proud of
-
Thats a good idea, I have used 1/16th cork on the track so far. I found John Lewis PVA to be the best as its washable and easy to lift off if you change your mind on the track plan
-
Great layout
-
Actually stripping back the layout I can see new possibilities and a need to finish the paint on the walls! The track is coming up well and I am trying out new ideas
-
Very much so- I have a Meaco De-humidifier and that has saved the basement really. We have two air bricks and they seem to do very little- let me know what solution you come up with for ventilation
I tried out some new junction ideas yesterday and they seem to work so just more track to lift and wood to remove
-
Thanks Steve- its amazing how as you get further and further with this hobby that you realise how badly things like track heights, dead spots and generally poor areas of the baseboard can limit locos to 5 coaches and de-rail other locos Lets hope layout three works better!
