Enjoy some action from Broxfield OO Layout set in Hertfordshire in the Broxbourne and Hatfield area 1957/59

Building 'Broxfield' has been a lifetime's dream never knowing weather it would ever be possible or not. I have no professional skills in any of the required arts and crafts, carpentry, engineering, railways, electrics, etc, etc, but I've been willing to try new things and do my own DIY. Everything came together in 2004 so for 10 years now I have been able to put an increasing amount of time and energy into the project. Retirement in 2011 gave me even more time and a compact video camera has done the rest. Rog

Hi All. I'm retired and fulfilling my childhood dream of building a model railway representing the area where I used to live and do my trainspotting. I'm from Ware, Herts and would cycle as a child to Broxbourne or Hatfield to do the majority of my trainspotting. I'm sure the footbridge at Hatfield remains etched in the memories of many of us. Combine B and H and you get Broxfield and of course in the late 50s they were connected via Hertford. and in the 'Station House' in my garden I have a 36' x 12' four track oval with a branch line from St Margaret's to Buntingford.
