Found the wiring fault. I had to just swap two contacts over on a terminal block under the scenic board on the left. (this is power for access walkway bridge). Since what is currently running is intended to remain as DC I am not putting in lots of wiring drop downs but I have bus there nearby in case a fault develops over time.
The next project is to get a bit more track down and start working on the back two corner scenic modules. All of this I can do while having something running 😀

Control panel now installed. For the legs I decided not to use wood but to get some chrome ones from a certain Diy store, had some fun cutting them to size with the mini angle grinder and then getting the whole lot installed level. Its bolted onto the layout at the rear for quick removal if necessary and its screwed into the floor with some 35mm screws (since there is a 10mm cork floor). Legs installed so as not to inhibit drawers being pulled out left and right or if in future I want to get some drawers for the units behind.
Switch panels unfinished until I sort the LCB wiring out. Main DC wiring bus runs under baseboards just behind the panel and have found a spot for the socket extension strip which will be attached using command strips.

I had some old L shaped bits from my old 1987 layout and I found that this is a really good way of preventing accidents. It doesn't look that pretty but this is a non scenic section. Underneath is a another piece of frame.
Its rocks solid when in and easy to lift out.
Hoping to get some bits off Dad to complete the wiring and coppery bits

It was a 5 page article in MERG journal Vol 55 No 4 page 31 , I can't reproduce here due to copyright reasons (memberships only £16 per year - bargain and well worth it) but essentially its down to where you place your isolators and using relays to power up different sections while linking to the signals

Works train in action. All buildings dusted and checked, about half need repairs. Plan to repair one at a time in between doing other jobs ¹Many small details to sort out. Waiting for mini vacuum to arrive so I can continue cleaning. Fixed problem with baseboard frame on left end it had come away and was sagging. Removed ballast to enable relaying of track. Whole nearest end has to alter as loft hatch is in the way so have to start curving about 10 inches from end of board. But initial plan is to go other way at far end as I know more what I want to do with that end. So layout will be a terminus for the time being.

Operator error or decoder problem. Dcc Controller is working. Relieved.

Spoke to gaugemaster (great service thoroughly recommend them) - made the error of having tester set to DC rather than AC. What a numpty. Could be a problem with loco or track in that area but will give it another bash (well not with a hammer) later on and see if I can get this working. I want to get the sentinel and 03 shunter working with some wagons as headshunts are very short at the moment

Stirling job there. I like the way that you have even added the wide base to the bottom of the column

Difficult to find a photo of that anywhere and its out of shot from google streetview due to the canopy.

Is your grass, carpet felt by any chance?

Well its very loosely based on it, a bit of general mixture of classic GC design. The thing that had me intrigued the most was the booking office ticket point. I couldn't remember whether there was a public door into the office or some sort of window, last years visit confirmed that one!

Yes sorry Rothley - I visited Rowsley on the Peak Forrester earlier this summer so obviously got muddled up!

No the only resin kit I have is the Bachmann Chimney - I will probably add something to it though.

I have the building lit up now using a 1K resistor I ended up placing two yellow 3mm LEDs close to the windows side and when the lights are off you can see the glimmer.
I will be adding a back scene - someone on facebook thought it might be a good idea to try and mask the roof / wood but could be difficult to get in due to the pitch angle of the house roof.
