  1. If anyone has some of the old Cooper craft/Mail Coach LNER Coronation kits in this category feel free to let me know.
  2. Very interested! looks nice and a cool touch these days. On the IT side, can you make the browser window full screen?
  3. I assume your still working through a backlog of postage? Heard nothing and nothing on the card. More worried something’s not gone through. Gordon
  4. I think that's a no on the discount, but perhaps it would mean four times the models? That or four people packing models I'll go back to watching my bank account for a hint of mine being posted.
  5. Any idea when funds will be taken out for the Spotty rail sound models? I also need to pay up for the Barbie ones - again any timescales?
  6. Thanks Tony, seeing the picture it's certainly the missing piece that's the problem. Let me know if you have one, if not I'll see what I can find. Gordon
  7. That confirms my thought that their should be in a block. Mine is just two brass bearing rings. So I suspect it's the wrong wheel.
  8. Hey Everyone, I picked up a cheap Battle of Britain loco recently which had a bit of running issues. on inspection the issue seems to be the rear axle is running up the way. I've taken the chassis apart and had a look and while the spring is in place and the axle is sitting on it, it still pushes up while running. On looking at the service sheet it looks like the read axle should have a block on it where as the ones fitted in mine is two brass brushes. I'm thinking it could just need packed up but this would probably impact the running of the loco so looking to see if this is normal or if anyone has seen this before. Cheers Gordon
  9. Just wondering what your doing for the underframes? I'm debating picking up this kit, but struggling to get an underframe set for it, and don't fancy making my own.
  10. Will I be able to get a Loksound V4 reblown at the show? Would also need a speaker for it?
  11. Can anyone advise which chips would be best to get the full function on this?
  12. Hi Charlie, will you have some available at model rail? Tempted but would like to see it in the flesh.
  13. Hi Everyone I'll get some up! I certainly think this could be the cause - With W1 I think there is a number of issues first being i broke part of the original kit's motion, so having an old Bachmann A4 to hand this donate some parts namely the connecting rods and main bars. Also the union link had to be fashioned from spare parts and I think may have been too small. However I spent some time on it and got it to a running stage! adding in some washers on the main bars looks to have sorted it in part, it's not perfect, but it runs! As for the P2 I'll revisit the hole sizes. I suspect I need to remove some wheel sets and do some trial and error on it. Funnily enough i got one of the poppy's jigs after i built the W1 chassis as it certainly make sense to ensure straightness. Great tool for the little it costs. however you said there was no point running the chassis powerless. I partly see what you mean but is their not some merit in testing free running? after all if it can't run smoothly unpowered what chance would it have powered. Appreciate all the hints. I'll post some results! Gordon
  14. Hi Everyone, I've been making a start in the world of kit building over the last year or so and its been great fun with loads to learn and some amazing inspiration on this forum alone! The focus for me tends to be LNER and as a result I have a as built SE Finecast W1 on my bench thats been there for some time as I keep on struggling with the valve gear. As a first kit (and that was probably mistake number one!) the body and tender went together rather well which was nice for a start. the chassis did too and was free running with no motion attached which was a start but it all goes down hill from there. Since it was driving me mad I decided to move on a bit and I was given an old K's P2 - nothing amazing by some of todays standards but an excellent starting point to push myself a a bit further into the construction of the body. However learning from my past i started on the chassis, again with free running results with no motion. However I'm finding the same problem with the motion locking up in parts. Can anyone offer some advice on how to track this issue? - I've tried to look at it but can't seem to find the where it's locking.
  15. Hi Charlie, Just wanted to check I put in a preorder but didn't get any confirmations except for the payment receipt from Sage, is that normal? Gordon
  16. Excellent, If i make it Perth I'll no doubt pay a visit.
  17. Quick question - do you do reblows at the shows? Looking for a class 55 on a V4 chip and should see you guys at Perth.
  18. I was wondering this last night but I running tests on PC1 only so not sure. Also thought I'd post up a nice little point for everyone as being Rapidios first UK offering and given its complex nature support if something's wrong needs to be there. And after unfortunately testing the support I can tell you it is. Credit to the Rapidio team as Bill was sending PM's after spending all day at the York show with ideas to sort my issue, and since he was traveling back I emailed Rapido cause I was impatient, despite Bill even telling everyone responses would be understandably delayed. My defence is it was a lovely model that became a paper weight after 10 minutes. and got reply from Thomas saying it needed repairs and to speak to Charlie was who copied in to the email. After a few quick emails I sent down the required parts to Charlie on Saturday. It arrived their on Tuesday late morning and I had an email saying it was fixed and a full report (overheated chip in the end) by middle of the afternoon. It then arrived on my desk at work on Wednesday afternoon! In all that was Just over a week, since posting on here (not what's in the book!) to getting fully working PC1 back. So full Credit to the team at Rapido and to Charlie and his team. Excellent service from all involved without fuss and a quick around.
  19. I'll PM you - as I think most of us here are keeping it for those who haven't got it yet.
  20. That does seem painfully obvious. I'll check it tonight, however would this still apply with the PC1 using only the front bogie with no other connection?
  21. I agree with Pete, Locomotion has been fantastic on every order I have had with them which is rare. I've had more hassle with Hattons and that's a bigger setup so worth the call. My only comment is that It's clear people are a bit overwhelmed with the task of getting these out. And even on Rapido's side (granted theirs time difference) they haven't been the quickest at responding to any issues. I know Bill was trying despite being at the York show and is travelling so I can't exactly hold it against them but I would have expected on a first UK launch having someone on hand to reply to emails about a possible fault should be high on the list. Even just holding messages. Part of me thinks I'm just impatient. Just my thoughts.
  22. Hi 60800, I would try running just PC1 and PC2 connected together. See if the motor responds as well as any lights and of course the speaker. If nothing works change the job my module to rule them out. Also worth checking all the pins are on PC2 and none are missing or bent.
  23. Thanks Bill, all the pins look fine. Strange thing is it worked for a while. Then after going into a siding to get some pics it started shorting. Is there anything within the power at that could have slipped out of place?
