  1. A BR 2P lined out with the new Railtec MT lining in 3mm scale, now for the opposite side.
  2. Two lovely rtr locos from Geoff Helliwell in the 3mm society. These are sold running but you do your own painting. Very nice runners but as Geoff says in his notes with them additional weight would be ideal for better haulage. The chassis is Geoff's own design with a small compact little motor. I suspect the wheels are society ones although the 03 may have had the centres 3D printed by Lenny at Lincoln-Locos who also provided Geoff with the bodies.
  3. The class 20 is one of the 3D printed bodies from Lincoln-Locos who produce over 60 BR outline diesels/electrics/DMU's plus a lot of steam and the owner, Lenny Seeney, has told me he has already had enquires for 1:120 so get in touch via his website if interested. It would be good if you got him to make some, they are of no interest to me but, it would save my bank balance for a while lol.
  4. This is the only continental chassis I have as this was the only model narrow enough to fit inside a 3mm class 20 which has a narrow bonnet. The clearance inside is 2mm or less, certainly no more. I did have to grind/saw some lugs off the footplate to get the body to sit down. I think it is Piko and I while I admit it is a very smooth runner I don't like it as it has traction tyres so does not run often.
  5. Thanks but I did forget to say I don't do industrial etc. An 03 and 08 then mainline diesels but mostly steam (not industrial again though). I run anything from the Stirling Single to Evening Star, from the 03 to Deltics to EM2, AL1 to emu's/dmu's all that run on mainline lines goods yards etc.
  6. I did say MOST not all. What does get me when others, usually scale boys, try to tell others what to do and expect non scale to follow their way or nothing. I never criticise scale models but get fed up with those owners looking down on us as if we should not exist. Not only on here but in the 3mm world too.
  7. It is immaterial to me what the sleepers are, I am not bothered if they are too far apart. I like and enjoy model railways and not going to complain if 20 rivets are on a smokebox instead of 25, sleepers are 1mm too far apart etc, I am grateful there is 12mm flexible track for my TT trains. As for Continental, why would I want that when I only like British outline and have NO interest in anything foreign? Not only that but most foreign as far as I know (including steam locos) have traction tyres fitted and I hate them.
  8. I am awaiting the new track to be in stock and will get a point and a couple of yards to test asap. The new track is supposedly 55 and H0m is 75 but the design might make it okay, we will see. All Tri-ang open spoke wheels and some Jintys do hit the chairs but it is easy to reduce their flanges to match the solid large wheels on the Brit/Castle/M-N as they are no problem. The Deltics are from Lincoln-Locos, one is an old resin mould, the other a 3D printed one. Both powered by Tri-ang A1A bogies.
  9. Apart from the sleeper spacing Tri-ang TT looks fine on the Peco H0m track.
  10. Very nice, was this layout in RM by any chance, it looks familiar?
  11. As far as I know Tri-ang used the "00/H0" description because of their American models. It allowed them to keep them within the British 00 model loading gauge although as we know the American trains are larger.
  12. No it has not, show me a Tri-ang TT box with a 3 on the end, show me a Tri-ang TT catalogue cover with a 3 on the end, show me a Tri-ang TT price list with a 3 on the end. Tri-ang called it TT that is all. Peco added the 3 not Tri-ang.
  13. I dont really class that as modelling in the scale yet then. I have yet to see a British outline 1:120 layout in the 3mm society, FB, YouTube or on here so IF there is then it is a very, very small minority.
  14. The larger loco is TT at 1:100 which all British outline 3mm modellers use but the track is underscale. The smaller one is TT 1:120 which no British outline modellers use but the track is close to scale. The small one is a Corgi static model, so far there are no working British outline models at this scale.
  15. Not quite, Tri-ang originally stated on their very first brochure "scale 1:120" as that is what they were going to do. Then, they realised the motors were too big so went up and added an amendment to the brochure saying "1:100". Tri-ang never referred to it as TT3 ever, it was Peco who called it TT3, for Tri-ang it was plain TT. The scale had nothing to do with the curves (which were 10 3/16" actually for the small ones) it was the motor size that was the deciding factor for them.
  16. Don't forget Heljans release date for the TT 31 is late 2023 so if Peco do make the 7 plank wagon it be get rusted to the track before a loco can move it.
  17. Belpaire fireboxes are quite narrow as they turn in towards the frames. Fowler ones like the Patriot and Scot (before rebuilding) had sheeting that went straight down which did allow for a larger motor, proper shaped ones wont.
  18. Not quite, Tri-ang had ceased TT production a few years before Farish started N.
  19. My view, and always has been however anyone interprets it is, we have all got our own interests and enjoy what we want ourselves. I have had people criticise me for liking and using Tri-ang but I don't criticise them for their finescale modelling. This hobby is about enjoying ourselves and not worrying, or complaining about others. Peco introducing a "new" scale, or however you want to interpret, is to be commended. I personally won't be buying the models as they dont suit my scale which is unfortunate but I am happy with what is available already and I will look at any layouts made at 120 providing their British, I bypass all non British layouts as that is my choice but accept others love it. At the end of the day the saying is "you cannot please all the people all the time".
  20. But it would not be compatible with your existing ones.
  21. The 1:100 model is by Atlas and is a very basic model. They did a few locos from around the world and some very poor, Castle, King, Brit, 9F, Royal Scot but some like the V2, A3, A4 and Duchess not bad when the plastic handrails removed and then made into a working model. These were, and usually still are, cheap. The write ups that came with them were incorrect with a few details and I guess may have been American but been around a long time.
  22. Steve has now produced the full MT lining with reverse colours in 3mm and what lovely transfers they are. These are, as in real life, 3 colours of grey/white/space/red. Certainly well worth buying for any 3mm scale mixed traffic loco. The loco is the latest TT, 3mm, 3D printed body from Lincoln-Locos Garry
