  1. 6220 was blue originally, however it swapped identities with 6229 Hamilton between 1939-42 and for that period appeared as 6229, a crimson streamlined loco.  There is a chance you may have seen 6229 masquerading as 6220 in crimson during pre-USA tour test runs.  Coronation could again have been seen in blue between 1942-4 when it got the wartime all black livery.

When 6220 was renumbered as 6229 was it repainted to red, or did it stay blue as it would have been new at the time?

  2. Thank you to all who responded.

I have a lokprogrammer in my train room somewhere. It was gifted to me and I never used it myself. Probably had it about 6-8 years I am guessing so it is probably the right for for 3.5 version lok sound decoders I am guessing.

I have Mac computers, so would need to set them up to run parallels to be able to use them I guess with the programmer. Never done that sort of thing before. Must get into it...

Thanks Lego man biffo too for your kind offer.

Will look into uk firms for reblown sounds as I am modelling British outline steam.

Over the last few years I have had approximately 40 odd 3.5's reblown for LMS steam, the only two dealers I found for this service were Olivia's and Howes. If you find any others please let me know.
  3. If you look at today's MREmag there's a photo of a Bachmann display cabinet at the recent announcements day, and the are 2 1f's in it, a BR open cab and LMS closed cab. They should be here soon as a mag reviewer (sorry, can't remember which post or member) said one had landed on his desk last week for review.
