Glad you are happy with them, nice to see them in a rake.

I'm sure we can arrange something, I'll have a word with Linny and sort something out.

I've only just come across this project and thread but having just bought 3 IOW Terriers in the last week with a couple more in the pipeline I'm on the lookout for something prototypical for them to haul and shunt .... I'll be looking forward to the order book opening if it hasn't already.
Regards,
Ian.
No order book yet, I had the second samples, there was an issue to sort out, so I never sent them to be decorated, am currently awaiting 3rd samples, it's only a small change to be made, so I am confident that these will be the final version of the van and I will be able to get these decorated, and open the order book, a move I don't want to make until I know I am happy with the end product.

Hi Linny,
Many thanks. I'll keep an eye on the @BlueLightning / Oak Hill Works website and order some if they appear.
Pete.
If/When they turn up I'll post about it on the Oak Hill Works thread, so following that should save you spending too much time having to check. I'd best be off now, got a horse box and a carriage truck to print!

@BlueLightning you're a bad influence, I've only gone and mocked up a drawing for a Baltic Nelson following our conversation the other night.
Glad to hear it! I do love a Baltic!

I've got some new kits just appeared on the website, and I've written a blog post with a quick overview of them all!

Don't forget my January sale is still on, so there's 10% off everything, including these new kits!

Gary,
As you have as many as the LB&SCR I hope that they are all renamed and numbered. 😄
Slowly working my way though them, they will be different class members where possible, the biggest question at the moment is do I continue my repaint into IWC crimson, or do I just buy the Hornby one now that it will be crimson anyway.

I must introduce you to my pal Mr C, who is loco superintendent on the Spa Valley Line by day, but by night transforms into one of Britain’s foremost experts on, and collectors of properly ancient 0 gauge (and a few other scales of properly ancient stuff too). He is alleged to have a Terrier Addiction, owning innumerable coarse-0 ones, but I think he would be comforted by the extent of your fleet.Sounds like a fascinating chap, I do find a charm in the deliberately old fashioned 0 gauge models, not that I'd have room for any! I do have a modern 0 gauge terrier on top of that collection (literally, it wont fit in the display case so it's on top of it!) and a few wagons, one day I might put some track down somewhere and give it a run.
I fear however any actual meeting of Terrier addicts would just result in the purchase of more terriers.

I have three Rails Terriers and ten Hornby ones. Not that I am a Terrier addict !
13 you say, I'm not sure we can let you into Terriers Anonymous on such low numbers 🤣 (all the new tooling ones are good runners, regardless of who made them)
and that doesn't include the ones that have been sacrificed for test building the Oak Hill Works kits!

Just received the kit for a FYNR version of the Robert Stephenson 0-6-0T and I have to say it is delightful. Thank you.
The availability of a ‘P’ Class chassis may be problematic now, and although my old Terrier chassis would probably fit (with some modification), I may well build a bespoke chassis. Now the fun begins.
Glad it has arrived safely, thank you for letting me know. Given yesterdays news I almost feel bad for the P Classes I have scarified for chassis donors, and yet another must go as I want one of the FYNR versions for myself as well, so no sticking one on another chassis for photos and then scrapping it.

Glad they arrived safely!
I must get around to putting the lining and nameplate on my MW H, I got it, built it, and painted it before Hardy's stopped, so it's probably about time to get the transfers on

Thanks Pat,
Always good to hear the kits have made it in tact. I'd love to see it built! I must get around to sticking some transfers on mine so that I can put some finished pictures on the website.

today is the 50th anniversary of me joining the RN, so I think that is justification enough!
As good an excuse to order a loco kit as I have ever heard! Can't be long until my step-dad hits the same anniversary thinking about it!

I haven't got one of them floating about to try under the kit, I used to, but no idea where it's gone.
12 minutes ago, Deeps said:With that in mind I have ordered one!
and just as I had finished James's order and got the printer cleaned up! Anyone would think people want me to work for my income 🤣

In which case youandTom might consider the Hudswell Clarke side tanks supplied 1889-91 to the Barry Railway as its Class E. 6' + 6' with 3' 3 1/2" wheels (so a little smaller than the Peckett).
I can have a word with Tom, drawings would probably go a long way to helping that effort, don't suppose you know where I could get some?
3 hours ago, Deeps said:Whether or not I need to acquire the kit from BlueLightning’s shop is in the balance but for completeness it seems hard to resist. The purchase of a ‘P’ Class, to use the chassis, being the only barrier. If I could somehow use a spare terrier chassis, with modification, that would probably swing it.
I'm not going to say you could use an old tooling terrier chassis under it, but I'm also not going to say that it wouldn't fit with some degree of modification.

I waited until a relatively reasonably priced Hornby A1 came up buy-it-now on Flea Bay
A feeling I am quite familiar with (I have now completed my task of owning as many terriers as the LBSC!)
12 minutes ago, Edwardian said:Lovely. I take it that the Hornby Peckett wheels are a straight swop for the Hornby Terrier's and that the Terrier rods are a compatible fit?
Yes, same size axles, gears, and crankpins. Nice and simple, I got a set of wheels from Peters Spares, took less than 5 minutes to have them fitted to the Terrier chassis.

Oak Hill's Fletcher Jennings J Class is a more expensive option given current prices for the Hornby Terriers (you'd need the A1 with the wooden brake blocks). I have decided the WNR needs one of these, BTW.
and if Royal Mail are running as well as they have been recently, you'll have it before the end of the week! Hope you've got some donor chassis ready 😛

Great to see these kits back. I wonder if the 'Frys' steam sentinel might make a reappearance in your range. Went to buy it last year and discovered the demise of Hardys hobbies.
I'll see what I can do for you.

Well I've got new kits coming for you all later this week, just waiting on a new, higher detailed printer to arrive! but in the meantime, I've got a sale on again! 10% off until the end of January! Can't let everyone have a sale and then expect my customers to pay full price 😜
Enjoy!

Very nice... but that's an LSWR horsebox, not an LBSC one! Don't get the two muddled up... :P
For those wondering, the render of the LBSC one (a Stroudley D53) looks like this:Me? Get muddled up and post the wrong picture? I'd never do such a thing!! 😛

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you've had a good time and got lots of nice new railway things!
I've got a couple of new bits coming out for you this week, including something that I'm sure will make @ChrisN very happy!
A nice LBSC horsebox is on it's way to Oak Hill Works, along with a few other bits, including some new locos, I expect I'll have one of the printers going all day tomorrow to get things ready to release for you!
Thanks for looking in, and for all the support so far!

Just a thought, does this mean you won't be in the shop anymore?
Thank you! Unfortunately it does mean no more of me in the shop, which until recently was not the plan, but sometimes an offer comes along that you can't refuse!

Linny and I have come to an agreement for selling the buffers as a separate item, they'll be up on the website soon, in a bulk pack so you'll have some spares to replace that one (and I'll try and remember when I see your name in the orders to stick an extra one in as well)
