  1. From Hornby Magazine's facebook page.....

    Looks absolutely AMAZING!!

I'm in total agreement, this loco looks incredible, I suspect it will be well up to the standard of the Railroad P2, will my wallet cope in 2014/15 ????? :imsohappy:

I sincerely hope that Hornby fit a new front bogie and an NEM aperture/ coupling rather than what is shown  in this picture as it spoils the model IMHO !!!!

  2. As near as I can see the whole centre section with battery boxes, truss rods, dynamo, etc., seems to have been glued in squint or is falling out of its own accord. Dodgy quality control would seem to be the problem.

    Cheers,

    David

This is not good considering that is is the most expensive coach (RRP £59.95)  I have on order !!!!

  3. Had a look at one of these at our club night last night. Very nice, runs smoothly, pulls OK, goes round sharper corners than the real one ever did...very nice!

    So next up the turbomotive?

Now a Turbomotive would be something indeed, it would sell like "Hot Cakes", can't wait until December to find out what they intend to produce in 2015.

Hornby it seems have got their quality control sorted looking at their new stock !!!!

  4. No worries! Glad it was of help, even though I got some of facts wrong  :jester: They are superb models! Hope to get the running video up in a few days time  :locomotive:

Well Done Callum, loved the video, you are right this version of the P2 is excellent, do I get my wallet out now or wait for the enhanced detail product ????. Hmmm decisions, lol  :thankyou:

  5. Hi. Got into York and Monk Bar Models on Saturday, and bought the BR maroon Inspection Saloon. Sadly, it was the last one - they sold all of them on Saturday along with the BR Blue and Grey models, so if anyone would like either of these, unfortunately, it is case of trying a different retailer. It does seem they are selling quickly, so do not wait around for them!

Now here's a photo' I've taken of the BR maroon Saloon on the layout - have not had chance to fit the detailing parts as yet.

    All the best,

    Market65.

What a superb model, I take back my previous comment about cost, can't wait for mine to appear from TTC Diecast !!!!

  6. Last year I found that Rails were selling an R2420 on ebay. the photos showed the cab ends (both) had splits from base to cab at both ends, which were clearly shown and described, but there was no info about the likely cause and the potential problems with the chassis. I e-mailed them via ebay messages and pointed out that the chassis most likely had 'Mazak rot', however they responded that there was no indication of a problem with the chassis. They did not post the e-mail correspondence so potential buyers were unaware of the issue and the model sold. Nuff said!!

Seems to me that they need aquainting with the Sale of Goods Act, I think all Hornby stockists are well aware of this defect and some are chancing their arm, I sent mine back to Margate and they were as good as gold and replaced the chassis with supporting paperwork.

  7. I think someone at Hattons is having a laugh, except for spare parts you can't give them away !!!!

    R2420-SAS-02

    Hornby - United Kingdom

Class 31 diesel D5512 in BR green - Pre-owned - weathered, possible expanding chassis - sold as seen

    OO Gauge (1:76 Scale)

    £65

Limited stocks, but available for immediate order

  8. I've noticed that the RRP for these has gone up to £59.95 on the Bachmann website.

I fear in the future that Bachmann will price themselves out of the market, it's interesting to see how much the discounters will knock off the SRP !!!!

  9. Hi, Black 5 Bear, that is how mine first started along with the corner body cracking. I think that I would contact Hornby as quickly as possible - and try to arrange to just send them the chassis for replacement if your body is not too badly damaged. Hope that this is of some help.

    All the best,

    Market65.

    Hi Market65,

Thank you for that, I have e-mailed Hornby this morning with some piccies !!!

    Best wishes,

    Mark
