Hello Everyone, I just wanted to know if anyone in the forum is into 009 Scale. I am just converting from N scale to 009 scale. I would like to get advice, experience, prefer rolling stocks, locomotives, what is a good brand to buy which one to stay away from, etc. I posted a photo of my existing layout. As oaf right now I have a Baldwin Class 10-12-D from Bachmann with DCC. I just ordered a C 1930 Tramway Loco (Fourdees Brand). This is my first time into this scale but I've been around model railroads all my life, My layout is 14 feet x 12 feet. DCC power using NCE controls. I will be modelling right after WWII, in England, but using plenty of previous WWII equipment. A lot of industrial and passenger service. Any information I would appreciate it. Thanks, Nick

Hello members, I am in the process of building a shelf Gn15 scale layout for my office at work. I've been shopping for 1/24 or 1/2" scale figures and was wondering where to shop for these. I found a place in the USA that is called Supply Line Model Railroad Figures ( http://www.slmonline.com/shoppingcart/store.cgi?action=24scalenew.htm&uid=38595 ) and was wondering if any of the members have ordered from them. Also, if you have other places tht I can get figures please let me know. Thank you in advance. Nick

Hello everyone, I've been busy remodeling my house and that has been a challenge to my modeling. It is good to be back. Just wanted to let yiou know that my little BR80 is running very nice with the sound decoder installed. I also have a BR50 with sound that runs like a dream. I am in the market of getting this funky looking Loco, a Roco brand Austrian Class 3071. It is only 129mm long and I was wondering if this little thing will run well through the Peco insul frog turnouts. If any one have any experience with this little engine I would like to know as much information as possible. Thank you.

Excellent work !!!

I got the sound decoder installed and running. A good thing !!! I've been working on the layout and on the room itself. Progress is moving forward.

Hello Members, I am new to the European railroad and I am building a shunting layout and I would like to know what do you use to decouple the cars. Most of my cars are Roco brand. Any suggestions will be appreciate it. Thanks, Nick

I just discovered this blog and this layout with the beautiful weathering is fantastic ! This layout has the taste, grime and flavor of a prototype railroad. It is AWESOME !!!

Liddy, I am keeping a close eye on your progress. I am also in the process of building a small HO scale layout. It will be a 10' x 10' x 1' wide "L" shape shelf layout in my office at home. The layout will be a WWII theme. For now I only have a Roco BR80 locomotive with sound and hopefully later on I am planning to get a Roco BR 50 w/sound. But that will be a maybe on the BR 50. I am a shunting kind of guy, so my main locomotive will probably be the BR80. I am in the process of preparing the room by painting it and getting new furnitures and hanging the new shelves for the layout. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will start laying track. Keep us posted on your layout and good luck.

Beautiful work ! -
I found the sound decoder at a decoder dealer. I should receive it in the mail by Monday. Now I am ready to do my new European Layout. Once I finish preparing the room for the layout, I will start a new blog on the layout, itself.

I got hold of ESU and they told me to get the LokSound ESU 54413 with a 8 pin plug. Now I am trying to find out who has one in stock so that I can order it.

Hi Everyone, it has been a while since I have posted here. After many years of modeling in several scales I finally pulled the trigger and I am going to build a new HO scale European (German) layout. I have always wanted to do one. I am from across the pond and live in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I bought from EBay a new Roco BR80 engine in HO scale. My goal is to have a shelf layout. It will be 10 feet by 10 feet by 12 inches wide. The Engine that I bought supposed to be DCC Ready. It's NEM 652 for corresponding digital decoder. This is my first experience with Roco manufacture and so I am very unfamiliar with it. My question is what type/kind of sound decoder can I get for this engine and is it easy to install ? Is it a plug in or hard wire to do this. Any information will be appreciated it. Thank you in advance. Nick
