I would like to build a Coronation class loco, for a diorama in 2mm scale/N gauge, and have need for at least the body piece. I have checked Peter's Spares and Graham Farish Spares but to no avail. Does anyone know of any other sources, either for a kit or just the body? cheers, Mike

That is another great image which shows structures and bridgework etc. It also shows how cargo is stored and carried; all good detail for background scenes. Mike

Hello Klaus, thanks for the advice about William's chassis offering, I am not yet a member of VAG although I have applied this evening, therefore I cannot reply or contact him on his offer yet. I do realise the enormity of building the Black 5 as a first build and, so, I have held off whilst I learn with something simpler and have also bought the shunter kit as a starter. The problem is that I am not a youngster by any means and, as such, I need to hit the ground running with this new modelling venture. cheers, Mike

Hello all, I am still learning, practicing and attempting to improve my CAD and printing skills. My aim is to find out how fine I can get the detail on my models and these test prints are my latest attempt. I haven't cleaned them up yet, the support stubs are still prominent and some supports will need repositioning; however, I am rather pleased with the detail on the Coles Crane gantry. I need to do some further fine tuning but I'm pleased that I am finding my way around the CAD features and being able to print something that will go on my diorama. cheers, Mike

I am constructing a 1950's Birmingham diorama that includes multiples of buses in the same livery and these would need different registrations and route details. The bus model is an Oxford N Gauge Guy Arab, Birmingham double decker and there will be about six in my diorama. There will also be various trucks, such as BRS or the like. Yes, I bought all the available parts to make a body but there weren't any cabs. I think that I am going to need to do quite a bit of scratchbuilding here. cheers, Mike

Hi Steven, I have a tight budget so hoping to find something for less than £75 for a working model or c30-£40 for a non-working model. No more confused than I am Gareth. I've joined the 2mm SA and have been purchasing track, jigs and templates etc., but locos only seem to be available in N gauge. I have bought a 2mm kit of the Black 5; however, that is going to be a bit of a steep learning curve for me and so, I just want to get a loco for my vignette that matches what would have gone through Birmingham New Steet station in the mid-late 1950s. Wow! I didn't know that Andy. I have been ordering stuff from Shops 1 and 3 since I joined and felt frustrated at this lack of chassis availability, and yet plenty of bodies can be obtained of Farish and Peco. Thanks. I have started purchasing the 2mm Association's Black 5 kit, in parts as I can afford them, and I'm looking for a Jubilee to go with it. I have looked on eBay although I get concerned when reading about eBay madness etc., so thought I would ask here. Also, eBay makes you bid and the two attempts I made on something, I was immediately outbid. I know that I'm coming over all negative, I'm actually the opposite type, but I can't be faffed with bidding plus I don't know if I would get a decent deal from strangers on that site. Does anyone know of any eBay sellers who are trusted on here, i.e. members have bought with confidence and that offer their stuff at a set bargain price? cheers, Mike

As I mentioned previously, I have been using Fusion 360 for my roadside and airfield vehicles and have managed this and now I would like to move on to helicopters and other 'rounded contour' shapes, such as this Lynx. Any advice on where to learn to do such shapes please? Similarly, steam locomotives such as the Jubilee and Staniers, with their rounded and contoured boilers would be nice to build. Mike

I am fairly new to anything CAD and 3D printing and, having tried a few freebies, I found Fusion 360 suited me quite well. It was a very steep learning curve; however, there are so many helpful tutorials on YT that it made the learning very easy indeed. Not railway related but these two AEC aircraft refuellers were completed last week on Fusion 360 and printed today on a Photon printer. The left model is an AEC type 0854 refueller with boom handling equipment. The one on the right is the hose type. I am working to N gauge/1:148 and Fusion 360 allows me to produce very fine pipework and window frames. Eventually, I would like to produce my own locomotives as well as more road vehicles. cheers, Mike
