  1. Hi. another late entry here as I rarely browse this area of the forums. But, to the point, a memorable model layout sequence occurs in Trier's "Europa" -- itself full of notable railway stuff including an awesome tunnel sequence -- when the main protagonists share a tender moment on the tracks resulting in the inevitable derailments... A teaser for this occurs about halfway through the following trailer. A wonderful movie on many levels. -- Mike
  2. Add a light somewhere that is inconspicuous but where it has a good chance of being seen if illuminated (headlight) or flashing (choose appropriate function on your decoders) -- in the cab, for example. It would normally be left off but just used for loco identification. -- Mike
  3. The RoG forum would be a great place to ask your questions and simply browse around for information: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/germanrailfr/ Good luck, Mike
  4. A small chainsaw like in the MRH article is definitely limited for outside work, so maybe using it to carve foam is appropriate (and I would guess it is electrically powered so internal combustion emissions are not an issue). Anyway, for more insight into how workshop power tools can speed up certain tasks in our hobby, check this video out: And I think he's enjoying himself... Mike
  5. Like some others, I found that some PL-13 switches could be problematic with PL-10E motors - in my case mounted under 1/2 inch plywood with a thin cork roadbed. I eventually concluded that too much play in the motor armature was conspiring with sticky switches to limit the throw at the switch. In one case, I replaced the motor, but otherwise I have been able to fix the problem by disassembling the switch, retensioning and (very!) lightly lubricating the slider with teflon grease, and filing out the slot in the PC board a bit to get a longer throw. Those that have had this treatment have been working fine for several months now. Good luck, Mike
