  1. Probably headed for Townsville next year? what can I expect rail-wise?

  3. At Reading in the early seventies, you would occasionally see a TYS metro cam unit running through on a special. Later , during an emergency on the WCML, I saw several 86/87s dragged through heading for Padd. complete with coaches In the mid 80s, at lunchtime each day there was a driver training special which usually produced a 25 or a 46, both rare in RG. They ran with three or four departmental mk1s that were filthy.Thye would reverse at Reading. This was the Tamworth Castle era and that was a frequent one used I once saw a pway special pass Reading with shunter ED3 in the consist Shunter DS400 lived at Reading TMD for a few weeks having run a hot box en route to the scrapyard. Class 37 hauling U class 31618 at the very start of preservation from Barry was a Saturday cop. 33s with three coaches and a PMV were common substituting for 3R units from Tonbridge, but just occasionally a 6 car Hastings would be used which caused problems on platform 4A which was designed to fit the 3Rs on top of a Waterloo electric. no less than 4 cars would be off the platform. So many memories!
