  1.  I have read in the rmweb that modelex controllers are feedback. They are a very good quality unit. I would like to mention that they are very smooth dc  and not feedback. I have used pentrollers on all my layouts including n gauge for many years and haven't had any trouble including the latest farish dc sound diesels. They are a dc stepped feedback not ac stepped feedback so the motors don't get warm.pic controllers are similar in design and uses the same hand held three sided case, but will auto detect the motor as pentrollers have a three way switch. For a very smooth slow control especially for shunting I use a 12volt ac power wall unit which sends out 13-14 volt. a 16v ac will send out 18-20v.
