  1. You'd be surprised how international we are in this part of the county. As well as New York, we have Philidephia, Quebec, Toronto, Washington. And no passport needed. Bob
  2. All this talk of Ore Trains on the ECML at Durham has got me excited, sort of. Here's one waiting to find out whether it's the ECML via Gateshead or Leamside then the Sunderland and Bishop Auckland line (joining ECML at Newton Hall). This was intended to be Kimblesworth Colliery Junction box (ECML) and colliery exchange sidings. May have to be dug up if I go for Newton Hall Junction. Bob
  3. Like the bowels of hell. Not a job for the faint hearted.
  4. The diverted ore trains would have gone via Lanchester. The banker would wait at Lancester.
  5. Hello Tyne Dock to Consett, Can anyone help? When the main route to Consett was closed because of accident or engineering works, the ore trains would use the Deerness line. I did, at one time, have a photograph of a train coming off the ECML at Deerness Junction on a previous PC which fell over. How did trains get to the Deerness? Did they travel on the ECML from Gateshead to Durham or did they continue down the Leamside Line to Belmont Junction and join the ECML at Newton Hall Junction? Cheers, Bob
