Hi chaps, thanks to those that have helped, and no thanks to those of you that have sent me pelters. Some people eh? Anyway i think i have the definitive list here 4) D1000A BR Blue Full Yellow Ends Font B 6326 5) D1000B BR Blue Full Yellow Ends Font A D6318 6) D1000C BR Green Small Yellow Panel Font A D6320 7) D1000D BR Green Small Yellow Panel Font A D6319 8 ) D1000E BR Green Small Yellow Panel Font A D6313 9) D1000F BR Green Small Yellow Panel Font A D6331 Apart from the lack of all over green (which will definitely go in the second run) this looks to be about right. (i hope). If i get no negative comments regarding the choice by 9pm tonight i'll mail them to China for the deco bodies. once again thanks for your help and patience, it's been great to have to all (well most of you) on board for this as i dont think i could have done this without you there as your far more knowledgable than me on these things. cheers Dave

Ok so I've read and re- read, number font change for the blue is easy. Who wants to give me a number for a green one? By the way I'm out today and doing this on my I-phone, and not because I'm lazy lol Cheers Dave

    Dapol Class 22

Hi guys, Am at a loss now. I'm getting information from 3 reliable sources and at least 2 are telling me the ones we have chosen are correct! I'm now half bald with anxiety. Speaking to someone 'in the know' I've been assured that the version we have produced is only good for about 15 loco's anyway because of the various ports on the roof etc. Are we also saying Kernows ones are wrong too? Confused and tired Anyone? Cheers Dave

    Dapol Class 22

Hi Geoff, i think i need to be on top of this come tomorrow as the release was not meant yet for the stores, as i wasnt here to control and double check it. In doing so it's obviously gotten confused with some stockists. The list below should clear things up for everyone. by the way the first 3 missing numbers are allocated for Kernow weathered examples. cheers Dave 4) D1000A BR Blue Full Yellow Ends Font B 6326 5) D1000B BR Blue Full Yellow Ends Font B 6322 6) D1000C BR Green Small Yellow Panel Font A D6320 7) D1000D BR Green Small Yellow Panel Font A D6319 8 ) D1000E BR Green Small Yellow Panel Font A D6327 9) D1000F BR Green Small Yellow Panel Font A D6331

    Dapol Class 22

At last i'm back. Hi chaps and sorry for the late reply to this as i have spent all week out in Iceland only just getting back. It transpires that there has been a small error in printing the order forms etc that have gone out to stockists regarding 6324 in BR Blue, Can i reassure you all that 6324 is in fact 6326 in BR Blue, and that this is the number on the Model. Thanks to everyone that mailed me while i was away (you know who you are), and as ever your help in deciphering these problems while i was away was extremely helpful. I'll be mailing the stockists tomorrow with this change so please dont go contacting them first thing as they probably wont know much about it until later in the day. One thing i will be doing here either tomorrow or by wednesday is putting some details on here regarding the instructions and sound speaker compatibility etc. If you have any requests in this area please post them here and i will try my upmost to help out for everyones benefit. Cheers Dave
  10. Ah, the million dollar question.................................maybe lol cheers Dave
  11. Hi Stubby, Sorry but Dapol dont own the tooling for clients models (unlike other manufacturers do with limited time exclusivity where the client actually ends up paying for the tooling for the manufacture to capitalise out of long term). So you would need to contact M.R. as it's their baby to do with as they wish. Cheers Dave

    Class 26

Hi, ND-145D 26007 Coal sector went out to stockists who ordered yesterday (05.10.11). Green and red stripe (Which both look superb IMHO) are out for Warley next month if not slightly before. cheers Dave

    Class 26

Hi everyone, the body is rather a tight fit on the chassis and the best way (watch your fingers) is a blade between the body side and the chassis and gently lever it apart and up. It should come free quite easily after that. Warning though, there is very little slack on the amount of wires that connect the lights to the chassis and to hard a 'pull' will possibly break the wires and be a pig to fix. so gently does it please. The 156 is a different beast altogether and wasnt really designed to be user friendly in removing the chassis.

    Dapol Class 22

Hi everyone, a quick update on progress of this model. I have received Deco samples here at Dapol towers, and there are a few elementary mistakes that need correcting, which should be done this week before full production takes place. These include the wrong grey roof colour, missing overhead warning panels, and correcting the colour of the lower body side 'cheat line'. Once i have these changes done i will post pictures of the finished approved model for all to see. cheers Dave

    MRA wagons

Hi guys, More from D.T., like i said it's been a busy day. Please note that the 2 brackets holding the tipping box up are customer fitted parts that will be in an accessory bag within each set box. cheers Dave

    Dapol 'Western'

Hi everyone, More from Dapol towers, and yes i know the brake rigging is still wrong, but its an improvement. cheers Dave
  17. Hi everyone, A busy day today at Dapol Towers, Here's a revised (although i am STILL not happy) cad cam of the Turbot. Be kind, i'm feeling fragile cheers Dave

    Dapol Class 22

I chaps, i have been testing the chassis this last 2 weeks and the model now has over 200 hours on it. We fitted it with A locsound 4 and a 4ohm DCC Supplies Speaker and sealed enclosure to check out the volume of sound available. i had the decoder blown with a class 20 just to see what the bass and treble were like. Well the factory came to a standstill as the volume was very high without distortion. Very cool. So, apart from the red rear light one end being a little dim, its been cleared for production. 1 thing we have done is get the valances numbered so that when you fit them you can fit them in the correct order. First deco samples of both ours and Kernows versions should be about 3 weeks away so i'll keep you posted. cheers Dave
  19. Hi chaps, latest Turbot files are in and i post them here. i'm still not totally happy with the results and i am going back to the engineer with some revisions. anyway, i hope you can all see progress here? cheers Dave

    Dapol HST

Hi everyone, our current production plans (and yes thing may change but i doubt it as i know someone in the know ) include, buffets (RFM's) in all liveries, executive I?C125 coaches with E.D.grey upper works, More Falcon grey swallow coaches, more FGW, and Blue / Grey Eastern Region numbered. There is also provision for the 254 Eastern Region HST units too. The RFM has now been 'locked down' and will go into the tooling room very shortly, but is a generic version that i'm sure wont please everyone, but will hopefully fill the gap before Dapol produce the TGS later next year. Talking of HST's ,there's news on the pinned new releases section. cheers Dave
  21. If i am to be honest, i agree that it's a shame that another Cambrian kit is being taken for RTR. However in talking to 'others' within the manufacturing business i think this will happen more and more in the next year or so. Basically it's a case of finding a model that will sell in RTR form and sell amounts rather than 'one offs', if that makes sense? So i fully expect that the cottage industry (no offence meant) will end up with kits of more distinctive looking individual wagons rather than ones that there are plenty of, and that will draw the attention of the big guys. Whether this is good or not for said industries is open to question, but in the long run i'm not sure it is. cheers Dave

    MRA wagons

Hi everyone, Thanks for the comments. Yes the repeat numbers have been asked of the factory and there are some that are missing that we are asking for as well. I'm trying to get the lights moulded in blue acrylic or yellow acrylic (depending on which wagon) but not sure if we can do that at present. It's worth noting our thought process behind the opening and tipping function. Some modelllers, we thought, might like to have the facility to modell a ballast train 'in situ' on their layout dispensing ballast, as this is a feature that is seldom modelled. We also thought that with the advent of DCC and micor motors etc some of you might like the challenge of motorising the the boxes to open under DCC etc. So whilst i agree it can be looked on as a gimick, i suppose we would be damned if we do and damned if we dont with this one lol cheers Dave
  23. Might do. Got any details you can PM me please? cheers dave
  24. As i hadnt posted these here before, and they had their debut at the RMWEb show but i think everyone misseed them, here are the latest Turbot Wagon cad/cam files for you to view. All going well they should be here in time for Christmas this year, and possibly (but not promising) Warley. Cheers Dave

    MRA wagons

Hi everyone, The MRA wagon decorated samples are in from China. Here is a selection of pictures of the first one in Network Rail. Things still to improve include the tilting mechanism, the opening side doors and their stored location when in transit, and we are trying to lower the all up weight of the set. The set has now been passed onto Network Rail for their comments and approval prior to massed production (pending the above). Please note the side doors on the picture are not distorted in reality on the model, and this is a product of photo manipulation to get the set in 1 picture. Despite rising prices in the Far East, itsalso worth noting that we have kept the price for the complete 5 car 'book set' at the originally quoted £125.00 per set. Cheers Dave
